WOJ Bookmark!!

Katharina gave the design team a mission!! We were all to make a bookmark using a Charlotte or Charlie stamp!! Well, since I love reading AND I love stamping, this was a no brainer for me!!

I decided to use the Afternoon Tea dp by SU for mine. The base of the bookmark is Chocolate Chip with Soft Sky and Groovy Guava accents. I used my Copic markers and Stardust Stickles on the main image and added lots of tiny Prima flowers with silver brads. To make the 'tail' at the top, I used several coordinating pieces of ribbon and tied them with linen thread. I used a large eyelet by SU too. I also got a chance to use a new single Cuttlebug folder to make the stitching piece across the bottom and distressed it a little bit too. The sentiment is from What's the Story? by MFT, which has perfect sentiments for bookmarks!!

Be sure to check out the other DT members blogs today for more fabulous bookmarks!!! And some of the DT already have the new Elisabeth Bell stamps from Whiff of Joy that will be released this week!!! (I'm still waiting for mine...*pout*)

I will also be back later with another post featuring a teaser for My Favorite Things!!! Wait 'til you see!!

Where are ya headed, Edwin???

Well, it's Saturday!!! Finally!!! And it's a long weekend here in Canada and the US so we get three days off IN A ROW!! Wooohoooo!! I'm so excited!! And I have a TON of new stamps to play with!! That's the BEST kind of weekend for me!!

Today's card is another DT design for Magnolia using Traveling Edwin! Everything used on the card is from the Magnolia shop except for some of the accent blue cardstock. I coloured Eddie boy using my Copic markers, highlighted some spots with white acrylic paint and pop dotted him over that lovely lace. I just love his little cap, don't you?

All the newspaper looking patterned papers look so cool along with the ticket tag at the top and those flowers go so well....I'd love to know where they got them! The sentiment I used is by Verve Visual from the Great Expectations stamp set.

Well, I'd better get crackin'!! Hope you have a safe a happy holiday weekend!!!

Exciting WOJ News!!!

Good Friday morning all!! I have some exciting Whiff of Joy news to share!! The new Elisabeth Bell images are winging their way to all the DT members, as I type!!! Katharina has announced that the official release date of the Willow and Oakley and the Guardian Angel lines of these amazing stamps will be Wednesday, September 3rd!! Woohoooo! I've posted a sneaky peek of one of the angels above!! You'd better mark this date on your calendar, because these babies are going to FLY off the shelves......get it...some of them are angels!! OH I crack myself up!!

So I have another Charlotte card for you today!! It features her singing her Christmas carols!! For this one I used some lighter weight watercolour paper and my SU markers to colour her in. The card base is white and that rosey cardstock I used is actually Coredinations paper that I got from The Town Scrapper. It is one colour on the outside and then when you run it through the Cuttlebug and sand the embossing a little bit, another colour shows through!! So cool!

I used Almost Amethyst for matting Charlotte, added some silver brads and then some Stardust Stickles to the snow and her hat, and the velvet scalloped ribbon is from American Crafts (I got it in Florida).

You may have noticed that I'm not posting a Friday Sketchers Challenge today. Well, with 5 design teams, a job at the library and my job as wife and mother, I'm finding myself stretched a bit thin at times and something had to give. Unfortunately, it is going to be the sketch blog. It was great being part of such a diverse group of crafty women from all over the world and I wish them lots of fun with their sketchiness!! I will certainly still be playing with their designs when I can and I hope that they offer my spot to an amazing Canadian designer, there are so many of you out there!!

Well, I've got to head in to work early for a meeting this morning, but I hope you have a wonderful Friday!!! The weekend is almost here!!

Back to School, Tilda!!

Well, it's getting to be that time, isn't it? Time for back to school! The stores are busy with kiddos buying new clothes and shoes and of course all the binders, pens and pencils! Such fun!!

Doesn't Tilda looks like she's super excited to head back to school?? I think so! I pulled out my Garden Party dp by My Mind's Eye and got busy!! I stamped Tilda on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured her in using my Copic markers. The card base is a Chocolate Chip square and I also used Real Red, So Saffron and Soft Sky for matting.

I pulled out some nice wide polka dotted red ribbon by Making Memories and used the matching fabric covered brads to attach the Prima flowers. I pop dotted Tilda and now she's all ready to go with her little chalkboard!!

Well, it's a yucky, rainy morning here in SW Ontario. I hope the sun is shining where you are!! Have a wonderful Thursday!!

Charlotte Decorating the Tree!!

It's time for another Whiff of Joy design!!! This time I decided to play with Charlotte decorating her christmas tree! She's so cute, isn't she??

I stamped the image on SU watercolour paper using Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink and coloured her in using my SU markers. All the designer papers that I used are from the Basic Grey Fruitcake line and the card base is an Always Artichoke square. I added some yummy red and gold ribbon and an enamel charm by Making Memories. I pop dotted Charlotte and added some Prima hydrangeas and attached them with BG brads.

Don't forget to go over and check out the Whiff of Joy Gallery as there are beautiful new additions almost every day!! Have a great day!!

Peaceful Tilda!

I was playin' with these Heidi Grace winter papers again! I like 'em, can ya tell??? I just love the different shades of teal blue and green in them. SO, it's time for another winter card!!

I decided to use this image of Tilda and I feel like she's standing outside walking in a light snowfall, on her way to a friend's house for a holiday gathering. I've got quite an imagination, I know! But she looks so peaceful!

All the dp is by Heidi Grace and I used Wausau bright white for the main panel and then Soft Sky to mat it on. I used my Copic markers to colour her in and added Stardust Stickles to her wings, hat, the cuffs of her boots, the snow and all the blowing snowflakes. I used these wonderful big, glittery snowflowers by Imaginisce that I got from The Town Scrapper and attached them with Making Memories button brads. The other silver hardware I used is from SU. OH and the best part is the velvet ribbon which is from the Artsylicious line of embellishments by Chatter Box. SO YUMMY!!!

Hey are any of you from the local area?? I'm heading to both the Sarnia Scrapbook Expo and the London Expo in September!! Will any of you be joining me???? I'd love to meet up with you!! Let me know!!!

You're a Class Act!!

I inked up a couple of High Hopes stamps for the first time over the weekend!! There are just so many from the latest release and these circus ones are fabulous!! So fun!

I stamped Lil' Showgirl and Show Horse on separate pieces of Wausau white cardstock and coloured them in using my Copic markers. I used Bliss Blue for the card base and the patterned paper is from a DCWV stack. I cut out the girl and pop dotted her on top of the horse. I used Regal Rose and Certainly Celery cardstock as well and pop dotted the sentiment layer too.

I finished the card off by adding sparkly goodness to her frilly dress and to the horse's feather headress. Then I attached some Prima Sprites with green brads. Don't they look fancy??

Well, I did get a lot done yesterday on my day off! I worked on a bunch of projects for the September MFT releases.....just wait until you see what's coming down the pipeline!! Whooooeeee!! SO fun!! Hope you have a great day!!!

Fruitcake Charlie!!

Haaaahahahhaaaaaaa!! I just liked that title!! I had a boyfriend named Charlie when I was a teenager and I have LOTS of names to call him, but 'Fruitcake' is one of the few I can actually post on my blog!!! HAAAAAHHHAAAAA!!!

I'm excited to show you this card because I really love the way it turned out!!

I got to play with another of my Whiff of Joy stamps the other night and I decided to use Charlie and his Dog!! I'm going to call the dog, Chester!! haha!! I hope Katharina doesn't mind! There's nothing quite like a boy and his dog!

Anyway, I stamped the image on SU watercolour paper and pulled out my Fruitcake holiday papers by Basic Grey. I used Versafine ink in Black Onyx which is my all-time favourite ink for when I am using water-based inks or markers. I used my SU markers to colour them in and the layout is from the Papertake Weekly sketch for this week. I sponged the edges of all the papers using Tea Dye distress ink by Ranger and a cosmetic sponge. Then I stamped a snowflake from Baby It's Cold Outside several times in the top right corner of the main image. The sentiment is from Friends Furever. Lastly I added some brads, a couple of layers of ribbon and a fire hydrant charm by Around the Block!

Today is my only day off until next weekend, so I hope to be stampin' away in my craft room (while catching up on laundry and stuff in between). Right now the house is quiet and everyone else is sleeping, so I'm going to get started!!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Let's Hear It For The Boy!!

If you're like me, you make more girly cards than boyish ones. Sometimes it's difficult to come up with designs for dudes, but that's what I like about Edwin. He makes it easy to get the creativity flowing with a guy's design!

This is another DT card that is making it's way to Sweden, as we speak. Edwin with Glasses is from the latest release by Magnolia and I happen to know that The Town Scrapper (mpmeeder@sympatico.ca) has this one as well as a LOT of others in at the moment....I know this because I was just there and was in awe at the 'wall of Magnolias' that I drooled over while I visited!! haha!!

For this card, everything I used except the cardstock I used for accents and the brads, are from the Magnolia shop. I used watercolour paper and SU markers to colour Edwin and the sentiment is from My Favorite Things.

Well, I'm about to jump in the shower and get ready for work. Working all day on a Saturday is NOT my favourite thing....but then I have Sunday off.....only because we're closed though!! *insert giant eye roll here* ! Hope YOU have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Friday Sketchers Challenge #16!!

This week's Friday Sketcher's Challenge #16 is up!!! This was a fun one too!! Carole from England is this week's hostess with the most-ess and she did a great job!!!

I played with a new Magnolia stamp again and used Tilda with the little cherries on her dress....so cute!! I had the perfect dp with cherries on it from the SU Summer Picnic set. I stamped Tilda on SU watercolour paper and used SU markers to colour her in...the colours are so vibrant! The card base is a 6x6 square of Real Red textured cardstock and I used Certainly Celery for matting her and Bashful Blue for the tag. I used wide grosgrain ribbon, Prima hydrangeas, silver brads and the button brads are by K&Co. I did her 'blush' using a q-tip and the Pink Pirouette ink and it looks nice and subtle.

Head over to the Friday Sketchers Blog and check out the gorgeous cards created by the Design Team...they really are wonderful. And I hope you can join in with the challenge....there's some awesome stuff up for a prize!!

Well, I had a great time in Petrolia yesterday, as usual. We had a fabulous lunch at Actor's and then picked up some super-duper stampin' goodies at The Town Scrapper. I got about 6 new Magnolia stamps, a few Cuttlebug folders and of course, the Scor-Pal! I can't wait to break it out and play with it! Unfortunately, I have to work today AND all day tomorrow, so it will have to wait until Sunday!! Darn!!

Have a stampin' good day everyone!!!

Charlotte in her Sleigh!!

This was actually the very first card I made using the new Whiff of Joy stamps when they arrived. I think I've shown you them way out of order, but no big deal. If you've been over to the Whiff of Joy Gallery, you may have seen it already, but I thought I'd share it for those who haven't.

Now Charlotte with her Sleigh is a rather large stamp, so I had to make it a 6x6 square card. I pulled out some Heidi Grace patterned papers that I bought last year, as I LOVE the colours in them. I used Blue Bayou by SU for the base and Soft Sky to mat Charlotte. I coloured the image in using my Copic markers and added Stardust Stickles to her hat, the bells and the snow. The button and ribbon are by Artsylicious and the yummalicious snowflakes are by Imaginisce and I got it all from The Town Scrapper. The hardware I used is from the silver collection of hodgepodge by SU.

Today is my only day off this week, as I'm working Friday and Saturday. So I'm taking a little trip to Petrolia to visit Phebe and meet my Mom to pick up Emileigh who has been visiting with her for a few days. We're going to have lunch at Actor's and do a little shopping in the store. I'll be picking up some new Magnolias, a Scor-pal (I've been wanting one of these) and who knows what else!! Heehee!

Have a super day!!!

I'm Sewing! I'm Sewing!!!

So my Mom and Dad were here on Sunday afternoon for a little visit and to pick Emileigh up and take her home with them for a few days. And while she was here, my Momma gave me a little tutorial on how to use her old sewing machine. It's the heaviest darn thing and I believe it's at least 30 years old....correct me if I'm wrong, Mom. I knew how to sew on it, but not how to make a bobbin, so....no bobbin, no sewing. And I've been DYING to sew on my cards!!

Well, after I had my tutorial from the 'Sewing Master', I went right to work and made this card with the new Edwin!! I used Red Riding Hood and Kiwi Kiss from the new SU In Colour line and accented with Not Quite Navy. The patterned papers I used are from the My Mind's Eye line called Star Bright....very appropriate! I sewed a zigzag stitch around the two main layers, added a diecut star, a punched glitter star, some buttons and the Verve Visual sentiment and pop dotted good ol' Eddie!! You like???

THANKS Mom, for the sewing session!! I'll be sewing a lot more now....on CARDS....not clothes, silly!!!

ATSDTC14 - A Sketch!!!

This week's All That Scraps challenge is a sketch, provided by Amy! Y'all know how I love sketches...so making time to do this one was a no-brainer!! (Exactly what I need these days....my tiny little brain is fried!)

So I decided to pull out my Summer Set by CCDesigns and play with this cutie little girl! I thought I'd changed things up from playing with winter images for today!! I pulled out this lovely Cabana paper from Inque Boutique that I picked up at The Town Scrapper!! The card base is actually the new Tangerine Tango by SU and the ribbon is Groovy Guava which compliments nicely. I added some brads and sheer blossoms by Creative Impressions. Quick and simple....and doesn't she look stylin' on the beach??

Be sure to head over to the ATS Blog and check out what the other gals have whipped up!! Then join in the challenge, we'd love to see what you create AND you could be chosen as October's Guest Designer!!! How about THAT??

Come on back later as I have another card to share!!

A Tilda Challenge....Across the Miles!!

I think it's so amazing how many wonderful people that I have 'met' through stamping. I mean, all over the world!! I know people across Canada, in the US, in Britain, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Germany....it just blows my mind. And I think of you all as my friends!

Over the weekend, one of my friends in Britain challenged me! Caroline (better known as Caz), just got a bunch of the new Magnolia stamps too and since we wanted to play with them anyway, she challenged me to make a card using the new school Tilda with Slate (or chalkboard), so I did!!

This little girl is so cute, ready to go back to school and to me she looks like she has a little cheerleader outfit on. This is another DT card that I will be sending to Sweden for Magnolia to use at their trade shows. Everything I used on the card was from their shop, except for the Chocolate Chip cardstock and the frosted brads. The sentiment is a set by Verve Visual called Great Expectations.

I coloured Tilda with my Copic markers and I did the blush on her cheeks a little differently this time. I find it difficult to use the Copics on her cheeks and make it look natural so this time I took a q-tip and the new Pink Pirouette inkpad by SU and added her blush that way. It's not too dark or too bright and looks more natural to me. Then I finished her off by adding some highlights with white acrylic paint.

I happen to know that Phebe at The Town Scrapper has some new Magnolias in stock, so zip her off an email at mpmeeder@sympatico.ca before they are all gone!!

Be sure to stop over at Caz's blog and check out her designs. She's a great stamper and has her creations published in some of the British craft magazines.

If you would like to do a challenge with me using matching stamps, just email me and we'll see when we can squeeze one in!!

This was fun!! Thanks Caz!! Have a wonderful day, everyone!!

Where to, Tilda??

Where do you think she is headed??? Tilda is all dressed up with her hat and purse and all of her luggage (a girl needs the necessities when traveling)and she is waiting patiently for her ride! I think she is going to Nana and Grandpa's house to visit!! Haha!

I made this card over the weekend for Magnolia. It is another DT card so I will be sending it to Sweden. Everything used on the card was sent to me by the shop except for the Not Quite Navy cardstock, the flower brad, blue dots and the rubon. I also made it for the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week to use items that you might find around your home on furniture and curtains, such as fabrice, ribbon, buttons, etc. So this one fits!!

I used my Copic markers to colour her in and she is paper pieced on top of the luggage. (I happen to know that Phebe at The Town Scrapper has these stamps and many others from the new lines in stock right now, so zip her off an email if you'd like to get your hands on some). I love the patterned paper, the lace and the colour combo on Tilda. Doesn't she look pretty???

Today starts another long week at the library. Full time hours again this week....hopefully when I get the paycheck, it will all be worth it!!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Charlotte, It's Cold Outside!!!

It has been a VEEERY long week and I had a little itty bitty nap when I got home from work last night. Is that wrong?? I was exhausted!! But I got another card made while I waited for Emileigh to get home from her babysitting job, so that was productive!

I think this is my favourite card so far that I have made with one of my Whiff of Joy stamps.....(I say that until I make another one..heehee)! It's so soft and pretty and pastel-y!!

I started by stamping Charlotte on SU watercolour paper which is 140lbs weight, so it's the good stuff! I used Versafine Black Onyx ink and used my faithful SU markers to colour her up! I had picked out these lovely patterned papers by Melissa Frances so I used Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery markers. I punched out a couple of snowflakes from purple glitter paper from the DCWV Glitter Stack and attached them to the corner. I used the new scalloped border punch on the BBlue layer underneath the strip at the bottom and added some pink satin ribbon. I added a grouping of buttons at the top for the Papertake Weekly challenge to Button It!, pop dotted Charlotte and added Stardust Stickles to her hat and the snow. The sentiment is by The Cat's Pajamas and I love the font!

So did you know that there is a Whiff of Joy GALLERY now??? Yepper!! We on the Design Team have been adding our creations since we got the stamps so there's lots to look at! Go on over and check them out and be sure to leave us some comments and let us know what you think!! And if you've received your stamps from WOJ, be sure to upload your designs! We'd love to see them!

So I am off to start some laundry, run the dishwasher and get to stampin'!!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Friday Sketch Challenge #15!!

I got new stamps!! I got new stamps!!! Whippeeeee!! I LOVE getting the mail....I really do! My neighbours think I'm insane, the way I run down to the mailbox when I see the delivery guy go by my house and down to the end of the street! Then, depending on what is in my box, I either walk back slowly and pathetically with my head hung low.....OR I run back at full speed with a big ole grin on my face!!! Can you guess how I looked when my package of new Magnolias showed up???? I guess that's not a difficult question, now is it?? *giggle*

I received a lot of stamps from the wonderful people at Magnolia, including some from the Heavenly, School and Travel Collections!!! Yee-stinkin'-haw!! So you will obviously be seeing a lot of designs made with the new rubbah!!

Today's card is my sample for the Friday Sketchers Challenge for this week, which was created by Murielle from France!! It was perfect for the design I made using Cherry Tilda! This is a DT card that I will be sending back to Magnolia in Sweden so that they can display it in their shop and at the different stamp fairs that they attend. Everything used on the card is from the M-shop except for the fabric brads and the ticket stamp.

I noticed that the Tildas and Edwins are a little bit bigger this release, which is nice. The images are so sweet and I love them a lot!! You'll see what I mean when I post the rest!!

Well, yesterday was my last day at the CPR/First Aid training and it was VERY long!! At the end of the day though, we took our exam and I only got one question wrong!! Yay!!! I'm glad it's over now though. I'm working 9-5 today and then I have the whole weekend off! Lots of rubber to play with!! heehee!! Have a wonderful day!!

Sending Winter Wishes!!

Yes, you heard me, I said WINTER!! I think this year I'm going to actually have my Christmas cards done early, what do you think?? Heehee!!

It's just SO hard to put these fun Whiff of Joy stamps down and I don't care if they're playin' in the snow and I'm wearing shorts....they're just too darn cute!!! I know you are all itchin' to get your mitts on the ones you probably ordered during the free shipping special!! Well, I think they are on their way to your mailboxes, so be sure to share what you make with them!! I can't wait to see!!

Anyhoo, this time I used Charlie and his Snowballs and I used these wonderful Heidi Grace patterned papers because I love the combination of blues and all those snowflakes!! I coloured him in with coordinating Copic markers, stamped the sentiment directly on some dp, distressed the edges of that strip and added a Making Memories snowflake brad. Then I added a delicious matching button from Chatterbox that Phebe has at her store and covered the edges of the snow and snowballs with Stardust Stickles! It's a very simple design but I didn't want the wonderful image to be overpowered by too much going on on the card!

Well, yesterday's CPR/First Aid class was just as I suspected.....long and FULL of information. In fact it's a little overwhelming and really not a whole lot of fun, playing choking victim with strangers...but I am learning a lot. I'm off again today to finish the training and take the exam! Cross your fingers for me!!!

Didja see, didja see????

If you were over at Splitcoast at all today, you may have spotted a peek of one of my Olivia cards on a banner ad for CCDesigns!! I'm so excited!!!

Tilda has a Present!!!

I made this card with a couple of different challenges in mind! I haven't played with the Magnolia challenge blog for quite a while, so I decided to do their challenge this week, which was to make a Christmas card!! I also used Katharina's sketch for the Papertake Weekly sketch challenge.....from last week. Yes, I'm a little behind....so what's your point?? *giggle*

The card base is a 6x6 square in the new Red Riding Hood cardstock by Stampin' Up and it goes perfectly with the new Imaginisce holiday papers that I got from Phebe at The Town Scrapper!! I don't think you can tell in the photo, but these fancy dp's have lots of glitter all over them!

I coloured Tilda in with my copic markers and added Stickles on the snow and her angel wings. I used some pink ricky rack and added a couple of layers of Prima flowers and attached them with a giant brad by Queen and Co. (again from The Town Scrapper....do you think I frequent that store much??!). I finished it off by adding some Dew Drops in the corner and adding more Stickles to the pink flower!!

I am heading out mighty early this morning to attend day one of the CPR/First Aid training...not lookin' too forward to that! It's from 8:30-5:30pm with a half hour for lunch....blech! I'll let you know how I make out!!!
