Krafty Challenge # 67 - Scoopy Scallops!!

This week's Krafty Challenge is brought to us by the wonderful Michele Boyer!!! It's called Scoopy Scallops, so make sure that you've got some scallops on your creation somewhere.....it can be from your Nesties or a border punch....whatever you've got!

For my card, I used the lovely Lily Lemon, who I had yet to ink up! She's just so elegant and I LOVE her hair! I'm not a big fan of yellow though, so I used the lemons as more of an accent on this creation!

The patterned paper is glittery and from Best Creations Inc. The card base is a 6x6 Pacific Point and I used Barely Banana for matting. Lily was coloured with Copic markers and then cut out and embossed with oval nesties. I sponged with pink ink while the image was still in the frame.....oh and I also used the 'out of the box' technique so I could keep her entire dress intact.

My scallops are on the blue matting behind Lily...then I added some Prima Caboodles flowers, some satin pink ribbon from Papertrey Inc. and a few pearls here and there. I also finished the inside of the card with a scalloped oval layer and stamped the accessory stamp and sentiment that both come with Lily!

**REMINDER - For those of you who are entering the contest for a Krafty Girl Guest Spot, please remember that you have to submit creations to ALL of our February challenges. If the Mr. Link for a particular week is closed, just link it up in the comments. And you have until the end of this week to enter.....so until Challenge #67 ends on Friday evening, March 4th! We are LOVING all the entries we've had so far! Could our new Krafty Guest be YOU????

Now hop on over to the Krafty Challenge Blog and check out the incredible inspiration that is there for you....and then show us your Scoopy Scallops!!!

Cute Card Thursday....and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is excited to be sponsoring this week's sketch over at Cute Card Thursday again!!! Their sketches just seem to always be perfect for our images! And they are SO fun to play with!

For my card, I used the lovely Gabrielle!! I always enjoy colouring this gal's hair!! Such a hoot!! I used my Basic Grey Olivia pad and thought they would be perfect colours for Gabby's fun dress!

The card base is a 6x6 Basic Black card and the pinky red matting is some cardstock from Bazzill, I think. I coloured Gabrielle up with my Copic markers (and I don't know why my camera always takes funky pictures of reds and pinks....but trust me her dress is red, not orangey red) and cut her out in a big circle using my CM cutting system. I sponged around the edges of the main layer with Tea Leaves chalk ink and matted her on black.

Don'tcha love that big ol' green flower?? I've had this yummy package of Prima flowers in different colours for ages and finally decided to open it! haha! I also attached some reddish Prima hydrangeas with black glitter brads. And I totally love that giant black rick rack! I got it (and several other colours) at Hobby Lobby! And lastly, I added one of the fun sentiments from the Tea Sentiments set!!

Now hop on over to the CCT Challenge Blog and join in the FUN!!!

Happy kraftin'!

Challenge #66 - A Super Fun Sketch from Elaine!!

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge is an incredible sketch by our very own ELAINE!! You know how much I loooooove sketches! It really gives me a jumping off point and inspires me as to what image to use and what stamps might fit the design!

Well, I finally got to play with Abigail Apple.....she's just so sweet! AND in an effort to use up some older paper, I found this awesome retired Stampin' Up paper that actually has APPLES on it! So I used the colours on the paper and chose similar Copic markers and coloured up Miss Abigail! I must say I do love how her hair turned out. Just love those swirly pony tails!

When you already have a sketch, the card just really seems to come together so quickly! I used Old Olive for the card base and Real Red for the matting. I added a corner flourish of swirly rhinestones at the bottom and a button with twine in the upper corner. I sponged around the frame of the circle with a blue ink and then gave Abigail a little sparkle on her apples and bows with my red Spica pen!

I hope you can join us for this week's challenge because this week's random winner will receive the whole set of new Krafty Quotes as featured on Elaine's gorgeous card. Now hop on over to the Challenge Blog and check out what all the Krafty Girls and Guests have for you to look at!!

Hoooo weeee! What an exciting few days of Krafty Peeks, yes?? And we're still goin' with more krafty goodness today!!!

It's challenge time again, as it is every Saturday in Kraftin' Kimmie Land!! This week our happenin' hostess is the Divine Donna!!! She has a Recipe challenge for you.....THREE main colours, TWO patterned papers, ONE button and ONE ribbon!!!

Now, at the beginning of the year I decided to make a real effort to use up some of my 'older' supplies before buying new stuff! Well, how much older can you get than this Stampin' Up patterned paper?? I can't even remember what it's called but I do remember that I bought two packages of it before it was retired....that's why I still have some! I just adore the colours....turquoise, pink and chocolate brown!! Yum!

This lovely girl is Judy and she's hangin' out at the malt shop, havin' a Cherry Coke!! Doesn't she look so cute and innocent?? I coloured her up with my Copics and sparkled up her coke with my Stardust gel pen. I used some yummy satin ribbon that I picked up at the dollar store....no kidding!

The little embellishment cluster is an ode to my sweet friend Joanne Basile....she does these cute little thingies all the time! Lastly I added one of the sentiments that Judy comes with....You're outta sight! The other sentiment is..... I'm on Cloud 9!

All these 50's themed stamps, plus the new Steven Leary's, PLUS the new line of Krafty Quotes...with all be available tomorrow over at the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Shop!! And we'll have an awesome HOP for you do enjoy as well!

Krafty Peeks, Day Three - Let's ROCK and ROLL!!

Come on baaaaaaaaaaby, let's do the twist!!! Can't you just hear the music?? Blueberry Hill, You Send Me, Great Balls of Fire, Blue Suede Shoes....oh, so much fun! And those songs are the soundtrack for today's release!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is releasing an incredible FIFTIES themed set of stamps from artist Annie Rodrigue!!! They are just incredible and if you hop around the Krafty Girls' blogs today, we are all sharing samples made with these fun new stamps!

My card features the lovely pink lady, Joanie!!! Don't you love her catsuit and doe eyes?? She's so sassy! I pulled out these fun papers from Doodlebug Designs....because you know how I love pink and brown!!

I coloured her whole outfit in one colour, so it looks like a bodysuit and gave her some sexy pink eyeshadow. I added some scrumptious satin ribbon and a big ol' bow that I made with my Bow Easy template. Some pink hydrangeas were attached with fuzzy brown velour brads and then I figured she needed some bling, so I added lots of little pink crystals!! Lastly I added one of the fun sentiments that come with Joanie....I Dig You! She also comes with the sentiment, You're the cat's pajamas!! heehee!

Now hop on over to the challenge blog to see the list of other peeks you can check out today! Then come on back tomorrow to find out what our Saturday challenge is!!

Krafty Peeks, Day TWO - Steven's Stamps!!!

Well, from the reaction we got from yesterday's peeks, I'm thinkin' you all love the new Krafty Quotes line!!! haha! That's awesome! Today we are sharing the new stamps from Steven Leary.....think SPRING!!!

I had so much fun playing with Rainy Day Miles!!! I just love the idea of playing in a nice spring rain! (Might have something to do with the fact that we are knee deep in the white stuff again! Sheesh!)

The papers I chose to use are from a 6x6 pad that I got from Stampin' Up....I think it was a hostess gift or something. But the cloud paper was just perfect, along with the two different cute tiny hearts papers.

I stamped Rainy Day Miles on Neenah cardstock with Memento ink and coloured him up in coordinating Copic marker colours. I cut him out and embossed him with my circle Nesties and sponged around the frame while it was still in the die. The layer behind it is the lacey circles Nestie in So Saffron. I used a scalloped border punch on the Pumpkin Pie layer and added some wide grosgrain ribbon and a pretty bow! Lastly I used a sentiment from the Fairy Sentiments set!! OH and I almost forgot....I used my clear glaze pen on his cute lil' rubber boots to make them shine!!

Now hop on over to the challenge blog and see what other Krafty Peeks you can find!!! Then come back tomorrow to get a look at the new Annie Rodrigue stamps!!!! Eeeeeeeeeee!

NEW Stamps at Kraftin' Kimmie's!!!

Today begins the Krafty Peeks for Kraftin' Kimmie's February Release!!! And we are kickin' things off with a brand new line of stamps!! Eeeeeeeeeee!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps has become known for their sweet, whimsical images that are so much fun to colour with markers, pencils and watercolours! But this month we are launching a new line of stamps that are headed in a different direction!

Today Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is debuting a new line of stamps that will appeal to both scrappers and stampers alike! The sets are called 'Krafty Quotes'!! Each month we'll be releasing a new set and each set will have four quotes which are larger in size than your average word stamps. These gorgeous sentiments are perfect to accent your scrapbook pages, your main card images or to become the focal point of your design!

This month, Krafty Quotes #1 features quotes from Audrey Hepburn, Louisa May Alcott, Lucille Ball and Mother Teresa!! This set will be released on Sunday, February 13th, along with all our other new stamps from artists Annie Rodrigue and Steven Leary!

For my card today, I chose to use the quote from Audrey Hepburn. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I read it and that's the way I want someone to feel when I give them this card! I used kraft cardstock for the square card base and the new Je T'Adore papers by Making Memories....so vintage and sweet!

I used a scalloped heart Nestie to make the polka dot heart in the background. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink and then sponged all the papers with brown chalk ink for the distressed look. Some off white lace trim and fluffy pink ruffled ribbon was added across the middle and I topped the card off with some pearl swirls and soft pink hydrangeas! So romantic!!!

Now hop on over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge Blog to check out more of the Krafty Quotes from the Krafty Girls!!! Then come back tomorrow when we will be previewing the new stamps by Steven Leary!!!

Happy kraftin'!!
