Like the Flower and the Bee.....
Well, it's Saturday and you know what that means! Time for another awesome Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge and this week our hostess is Melanie! She'd like us to Go GREEN, so you need to reuse or repurpose something on your creation!
I haven't had much time at all to kraft and kreate lately (I'll give you more details on why, later) so when I found some time the other day, I just HAD to play with the new PEONY! Not only are peonies my favourite flower.....they smell so good.....but I think this image is my favourite image from the Flower Girls release last week! And she was so much fun to colour!!
I pulled out my new Tea for Two 6x6 pad from Cosmo Cricket and coloured her up to coordinate with those pretty papers! I added a little bit of Buttermilk Spica pen to her hair to make it slightly sparkly! The card base is 5.5 inch square kraft and the scalloped layer around her is also kraft. The layout that I used is actually the sketch from last week's challenge, so technically, I recycled that too!!! (Although Kerry says that's just me being tardy!! Hahaha!)
The lace that I used across the middle is some that I pulled off an old card and I think it goes perfectly with the vintagey feel of this card. I added some flower/button/linen thread combos made from the coordinating patterned papers like my krafty idol, Michele Boyer does. And lastly I added one of the awesome matching sentiments from the Flower Sentiments set!!!
I gotta say, and I don't say this often, but I really love the way this card turned out! Beautiful card Kimmie! Peony is just perfect and I love that lace! Glad to hear you enjoyed The Hunger Games! I finished the first book a few days ago (fought my ten year old for it!). He got to see it last night with hubby, my turn next!
