Mojo Monday - Oceans of Love!!

First of all, a very Happy Father's Day to my Daddy-o who is the best father and grandfather two lucky girls could ever ask for! And also to my hunny, who is the best husband and father the same two lucky girls could ever ask for! We love you!

I'm pretty stinkin' excited today because I have a card that I created for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge! This is rather a momentous occasion for me because....well, I haven't done a card for anything but Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenges or KKS sponsored challenges since.....well, I really can't tell you when! It feels pretty cool to do a card just for fun and I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Don't you love that feeling!? I used to play with the Mojo Monday sketch a lot, but since I started my own business....not so much. :(

The sketch is a good one...perfect for lots of KKS images, so I decided to play with one of our mermaids, Marina! I also cracked open my Happy Go Lucky Lime Twist paper pad for the very first time and played with the gorgeous colours in there! LOVE the colour combos in this pad!

I stamped Marina on Neenah with Memento ink of course and coloured her up with my Copic markers. I thought she would look pretty funky with fuchsia hair and I spent some extra time dotting the shaded parts of her lovely tail.

Now I don't usually cut the mermaids out because the images are so intricate but I decided that I wanted to try with this one.....guess I was feeling adventurous!! Note to self: next time I want to cut an image out, don't use the super thick Neenah cardstock! My hand was so sore and cramped afterwards, not to mention I was all sweaty, stressing about accidentally lopping her head off or slipping on the narrow part of her fin! And that little fish with all his fins? Aagh! But it all worked out and she's still in one piece!

I used my Nesties to cut out and emboss the circle and scalloped circle layers, then added some narrow grosgrain ribbon across the middle. I had some fun glittery dots to add the trio in the top corner and then I used the Oceans of Love sentiment from our Mermaid Sentiments set. Lastly I just added a bit of sparkle to the fishy and to Marina's tall with my clear Spica pen!!

Whew!! So the card is done AND it's posted in time for the Mojo Monday deadline!! Double cool! Hopefully I can try it again next week! Fingers crossed!

Happy kraftin'!

March MFT Hop Around the Block!!!

It's that time again....time for a happenin' My Favorite Things Hop Around the Block!!! Heeheeeeeeeeeee....I love these!!! So much hoppin', so much eye candy!!!

Now if you're making your daily stop here, as you do every day (because you are a devoted Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner reader...*snort*), you may want to start the hop from the beginning, so you can partake of ALL the inky goodness....not just mine! Hop on over to The MFT Lady's Blog and start from there....not to worry, I'll wait here for you until you get back!!

I have SO much MFT fun to share with you today!!! This first card I only just finished about ten minutes ago, but I was so excited about using this set that I had to get one done using Hangin' with My Peeps for the Hop!! Love this set and all it's fun sentiments including To One of My Favorite Peeps, A Little Birdie Told Me..., Getting Old is for the Birds and more!

I used this week's Mojo sketch #76 for the awesome layout and used the Chloe's Closet dp by Making Memories...love that stuff. The card base is Tangerine Tango along with Brocade Blue and So Saffron for matting. I used my Copics of course, to do the colouring and added the delicious So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon for the purty bow!!!

The second card I made was actually the first one I made with this month's sets. I LOVE this new Tea with Flopsey set!!! And I knew the shabby chic look would go well with it, as well as my new Porcelain papers from Basic Grey!! I made a square card as the main image is quite large and the sentiment is a long one! So I used Old Olive for the base and Pink Pirouette for matting. I opened my small sharp scissors wide and went to town distressing every layer.

You know I used my Copics to colour the image and I chose the make the sky a light pink background to go with the dp. I added some white taffeta ribbon across the center, pop dotted the main layers and attached a pink Prima flower with a Basic Grey brad!! I'm so happy with the way it turned out....it makes me giddy just to look at it!! heehee!!

I have several other projects that I've made using the new sets, but I can't show them all at once, now can I?? Too much of all this sweet candy will give you a cavity!!! teehee...but if you come to the party tonight, you'll get to see it alllllllll!!!!

Now don't forget that these two sets, PLUS THREE MORE, will be released at the My Favorite Things New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, March 4th from 9-10pm EST (that's tonight). As I said, there are 5 new sets being released tonight!! Head over to the MFT forum to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. I'll see you there, after I rush home from work, throw on my pj pants and grab a coffee!!!

NOW to continue on with the HOP, your next stop is the amazingly talented Candice Lighty!!! Show 'em whatcha got, Candice!!!

Mojo Bike-a-Bella....and a Bella CLASS!!!

Well, yesterday was a full day of stampin' for me. I had the day off so I spent it working on some samples for upcoming releases. After finishing up a few mandatory things, I decided to stamp something just for fun!!

I call her Bike-a-Bella but her official name is I-wish-I-looked-so-good-on-a-bikeabella....kinda long, isn't it?? haha! But ohsocute!!! I used this week's Mojo 75 sketch and it worked perfectly with the image, I think.

The papers are from Chloe's Closet by Making Memories and the cardstocks I used are Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Brocade Blue. I used my new EK Success border punch across the BB layer, added some striped grosgrain ribbon and some Prima hydrangeas. I think she looks FAB!!!

Do you love Bellas, like I love Bellas??? Well, if you live in the London/St. Thomas area, you can come and take a Bella Class!!! Doesn't that sound fun??? My stampin' soul sistah, Andrea and I (otherwise known as the Dynamic Duo....*giggle*) will be teaching a Bella class at Scrappin' Great Deals on Saturday March 7th in the afternoon!! We will be making four different Bella creations using yummy coloured cardstocks, beautiful designer papers, wonderful embellishments and lots of sparkle!! We haven't designed the cards yet though...we're having a tough time choosing which Bellas to use!!! Maybe we'll just have to do several Bella classes!!! If you would like to sign up to come and play with us, just head over to the Crops and Classes page at SGD to find out more!! Hurry though, as spaces are limited!! Andrea and I are SO excited to stamp with you!!!!

Okay, I'm off to work today! I guess I should show up at the library once in a while, huh?! Haha! I love having four days off, but going back is so hard!! Have a stampin' good day!!!

Owl Always Love You!

This is going to be a quickie post this morning, as it's a blizzard outside and I have to take Emileigh to school and get myself to work. Yikes!

I made this card over the weekend, playing along with the Mojo 68 sketch challenge. I used these adorable High Hopes stamps and my new Bittersweet papers by Basic Grey. I used Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink cardstocks along with Wausau bright white for the main layer.

I spent a lot of time colouring the image with my Copic markers. I really took my time and did a lot of layering and I think it turned out pretty well. I added a BG button with brown linen thread and also the yummy chocolate BG brads across the bottom.

Kay, I gotta run now....the snowplows are out but it's going to be a messy drive!!! Hope you have a nice warm, inky day!!!
