March MFT Hop Around the Block!!!

It's that time again....time for a happenin' My Favorite Things Hop Around the Block!!! Heeheeeeeeeeeee....I love these!!! So much hoppin', so much eye candy!!!

Now if you're making your daily stop here, as you do every day (because you are a devoted Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner reader...*snort*), you may want to start the hop from the beginning, so you can partake of ALL the inky goodness....not just mine! Hop on over to The MFT Lady's Blog and start from there....not to worry, I'll wait here for you until you get back!!

I have SO much MFT fun to share with you today!!! This first card I only just finished about ten minutes ago, but I was so excited about using this set that I had to get one done using Hangin' with My Peeps for the Hop!! Love this set and all it's fun sentiments including To One of My Favorite Peeps, A Little Birdie Told Me..., Getting Old is for the Birds and more!

I used this week's Mojo sketch #76 for the awesome layout and used the Chloe's Closet dp by Making Memories...love that stuff. The card base is Tangerine Tango along with Brocade Blue and So Saffron for matting. I used my Copics of course, to do the colouring and added the delicious So Saffron wide grosgrain ribbon for the purty bow!!!

The second card I made was actually the first one I made with this month's sets. I LOVE this new Tea with Flopsey set!!! And I knew the shabby chic look would go well with it, as well as my new Porcelain papers from Basic Grey!! I made a square card as the main image is quite large and the sentiment is a long one! So I used Old Olive for the base and Pink Pirouette for matting. I opened my small sharp scissors wide and went to town distressing every layer.

You know I used my Copics to colour the image and I chose the make the sky a light pink background to go with the dp. I added some white taffeta ribbon across the center, pop dotted the main layers and attached a pink Prima flower with a Basic Grey brad!! I'm so happy with the way it turned out....it makes me giddy just to look at it!! heehee!!

I have several other projects that I've made using the new sets, but I can't show them all at once, now can I?? Too much of all this sweet candy will give you a cavity!!! teehee...but if you come to the party tonight, you'll get to see it alllllllll!!!!

Now don't forget that these two sets, PLUS THREE MORE, will be released at the My Favorite Things New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, March 4th from 9-10pm EST (that's tonight). As I said, there are 5 new sets being released tonight!! Head over to the MFT forum to find out all the details and to find out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. I'll see you there, after I rush home from work, throw on my pj pants and grab a coffee!!!

NOW to continue on with the HOP, your next stop is the amazingly talented Candice Lighty!!! Show 'em whatcha got, Candice!!!

MFT Blog Hop....AND Kimmie's Birthday Celebrations Day THREE!!!

Edited to Add: The winner of this challenge is Tracey!!! Congratulations! Please email me with your information and I will pass it along to The MFT Lady!!

Hidee ho stampers!!! Are you ready for a blog hop??? If you've just happened to land upon my blog today, you may want to start at the beginning of an amazing adventure across the MFT DT's blogs and check out the cool stamp sets being released tonight!! Just head over to The MFT Lady's Blog to start from the beginning!!

The set I'm spotlighting today is a new Who's That Girl? set called Digital Girl!!! She's perfect for all us computer addicted gals! What?? You're not addicted to your computer?? Tell me...where are you right NOW??? hahaha! How many times a day do you check your email?? I won't even admit it....it would be much too embarassing!!

The main image is of me....I mean, of a girl, busily typing away at her computer, be it her home computer or work computer. And there are just SO many wonderful sayings!! I used 'Your Blog Rocks' on my card but there's also You're a Cyber-Celebrity, Without You My Network Crashes, I'm Just a Click Away and my all-time favourite....Working 9-5 So I Can Stamp 24-7!!! SO me!!!

So I stamped the main image on Wausau bright white cardstock and also on a couple of pieces of Sugared dp by Basic Grey. I paper pieced her top and skirt and used my Copics to colour in the rest. The card base is Chocolate Chip and I used So Saffron and Pink Pirouette for matting. The layout is inspired by, although not exactly the same as, the MFT sketch for this past week, MFTSC66.
I distressed several layers of dp using Walnut Stain ink and a sponge, then added some Basic Grey brads, some wide pink ric rack and a button with linen thread!

For my Day Three challenge I would like you to use PINK on your design as well as at least one BUTTON!!! ANNNNNNND wanna guess who is sponsoring today's Kimmie's Challenge??? None other than The MFT Lady herself!!! The winner of today's challenge will receive their own set of Digital Girl!!!! How cool is that???

So be sure to leave your comment on this post with a link back to your design. And if you upload to an online forum like Splitcoast, be sure to use the keyword KKBC3, so that we can all check them out!!

You are free to use ANY stamps, papers, embellishments etc., just follow along with the challenge requirements. In order to be included in the random draws, your designs can be combined with other challenges, but NOT my challenges. So you can't make a card using Monday and Tuesday's challenges and have them count for both draws. Get it?! Good.

The deadline for this challenge is Tuesday, February 10th at 8pm EST to be entered in the draw!

Also, don't forget that the more challenges you join in on this week, the better your chances are to win the Grand Prize at the end!!! So here is the link to Challenge #1 and Challenge #2!!

Now don't forget that Digital Girl, Bling 'Bet (the set I shared yesterday on my Sketchbook) and Tea for Two (that adorable set that I did the Shimmerz Tutorial with) will be released TONIGHT at 10pm EST. Be sure to join us at the MFT Forum on SCS for the release par-tay at 9pm EST. I'll be rushin' home after work to be there in time for the fun!!!

Now HOP on over to Lauren's blog to see what creative genius she has to show you!! Have a stampin' good day!!

Bling 'Bet Bounce!!!

Woohooooooo!! My Favorite Things has a really cool stamp set being released on Wednesday night so we thought we'd do a little 'Bounce' from blog to blog and show you some different ways to use it!!

If you want to start the Bounce from the beginning just pop back over to The MFT Lady's Blog and start from there.

This amazing new set is a whole new ball game for MFT. It's an Alphabet Set, called Bling 'Bet!! How cool is that?? It can obviously be used on your scrapbook pages but also on your altered doodads and personalized items!!

For my project I decided to finally make something I've been meaning to whip up for myself for some time now. I see so many wonderful sketches out in blogland and on Splitcoast but then I don't get around to using them and then I can't remember where I saw them! SO I decided to make myself a book to put them all in and jot down where I found them too, for future reference!

So I found these awesome giant recipe cards at the dollar store a looong time ago! They are 5x8, so I took some thin cardboard and cut two covers the same size for the front and the back. The patterned papers I used are Jolie Chocolat by SEI and they are super sparkly and pink and brown....my fave! So I covered the front with a solid dark pink dp then cut a smaller size from the glittery butterfly dp and sponged around the edges with Walnut Stain distress ink and a sponge.

Then I took my Bling 'Bet Stamps and used Archival Brilliance Pigment Ink in Orchid and stamped the word SKETCHES on white cardstock! It's so pink and sparkly!! Now the letters have small holes all over them and they are perfect for placing different things in them, such as brads!! I used my mat pack and pierced through each hole and then I attached SEVENTY-SIX antique copper brads in the holes!!! YES!!! It was PAINFUL to part with that many brads but I think it gives it a really cool industrial look!! (Plus I always know where to find them if I run out!! *snort*) Then I sponged around the edge of the title and matted it on Chocolate Chip cardstock.

I used my Bind-it-All machine to bind all the pieces together, then added lots of pink and brown ribbon through the coils. I used my Martha Stewart punches to add some 3D butterflies to the cover and I added a lock and key charm to the cover as well, because I really feel like sketches unlock the door to my creativity!!

So now you can 'bounce' on over to Michelle's blog and see what crafty goodness she created with her Bling 'Bet! Now don't forget that this set will be released, along with a couple of other cuties, on Wednesday night at 10pm EST!!

And be sure to come on back here later today, as I'll have another post with Day TWO of my Birthday Celebration Challenges!!!

A Shimmerz Tutorial!!!

I don't normally do much in the way of tutorials, because they are extremely time consuming and a LOT of work! But I was thrilled to be asked to do one for the How'd They Do That? section of the My Favorite Things forum over on SCS. So I thought I'd share it here too!

I am totally excited to share my Shimmerz Tutorial with you today because a) I LOOOOOVE Shimmerz and b) I’m debuting one of the new MFT February release stamp sets!! Heeheeee! With the MFT Lady’s permission of course!! (Actually she's away at CHA in Anaheim this week and from what I hear, she's lost her voice, so what could she really say, anyway, right??? *insert evil laugh here*)

Now anyone who knows me, knows that I love anything sparkly and shimmery and these lovely little paints definitely fit that bill! Shimmerz are non-toxic, water based paints that are ridiculously shimmery!!! And today I’m going to show you just a few of the ways you can use them!!!

The stamp set I’m giving you a peek at is another amazing creation from Stephanie Fizer and it’s called Tea for Two! I just love it! BUT you won’t be able to order it until next Wednesday, February 4th after the Release Party!! And after you see the pictures of these A-dorable images, I’m going to have to tell Kim to have plenty on hand and available on release night!!

As you may or may not know the Shimmerz come in over 35 different iridescent colours and My Favorite Things has almost all of them in stock!! They come in little pots and all you need is a paintbrush or empty aquapainter to use them! You can use Shimmerz over top of your stamped and coloured images just like paint. You can add a little shimmer to a dress, some flowers or some fur....like I’ve done!!

I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured them with my Copic markers.

I painted each of the colours of Shimmerz that I currently have on a spare piece of white cardstock so that you can see what they look like with no colour underneath them.

I decided to use the Gold Glimmer on the mouse and bunny fur. This pic is of the mouse image after I’ve painted it. Keep in mind it’s difficult to catch the glimmer and shimmer on camera but I think you get the idea!

Next I decided to add some sparkle to my Prima flowers, so here is a before shot,

.....an after shot.....

.... and a closeup shot. The paint goes right on and dries so quickly and leaves them super shimmery!

I wanted to try Shimmerz on my ribbon too! So I tied a little bow using grosgrain ribbon (don't know why the pic is sideways...can't get it to go straight....anyone????)...

... and painted the Shimmerz directly on the top of the ribbon. Again, it didn’t take long to dry and it was ready to go on my card! Keep in mind that you don’t need to saturate your ribbon or flowers or paper. You only need a little to add some extra glimmer to your project.

I figured why not go all in?? So I decided to try painting my bland, flat looking brads with some Shimmerz too!! Here’s the before .....

.... and after! It takes a little longer to dry because it’s a smooth, non-porous finish.

And here are the finished cards, all pretty and sparkly!! Don’t forget, this stamp set is not available until the release on February 4th, but the Shimmerz are over at the store now!

I hope you enjoyed my attempt at a tutorial!! And have a very SPARKLY day!!!

Another MFT Blog Hop!!!

Hidee ho, good stampers!! I'm happy that you're stopping by today and if you are 'just stoppin' by', you might want to start over at The MFT Lady's blog. 'Cause we're havin' a Blog Hop today!!! It's time to release a couple of new stamp sets today!! Woohoooo! Okay. Go on over there. I'll wait here for ya! Go on....I'll wait.

Doot da dooooooooo. La dee daaaaaaaaaaah. Hmmmmmm hmmm hmmmmmmmm.

Are ya back?? Great! Took ya long enough! *giggle* Today I have two cards to show you using the new Paper Doll Sayings stamp set that goes with the Paper Doll stamp set that was released a couple of months ago. SO cute!!

The first card features our Paper Doll in her mermaid attire!! I actually participated in this week's CPS challenge, which was to use any one of the previous 99 sketches, so I chose sketch #27! It went perfectly with the look I wanted for the mermaid. I used the sparkly aqua coloured dp from the Sweet Stack by DCWV and cut a couple of pieces using a wavy template from Creative Memories, to create the 'ocean' for my girl. The other dp is also from the same stack and I love it because the lacey border at the top is part of the dp!

I cut out the doll and the outfit and pop dotted it on the base. I added some sparkly brads in the corners, some satiny pink ribbon across the bottom and these LOVELY new satiny flowers that I attached with a big pearl brad. I finished her off by painting her 'scales' with some Shimmerz!! Not sure if you can see it in the photos, but click on them for a closeup. They are so PURTY!!! And of course, there's the perfect sentiment from the new set that I punched out with my small oval punch.

The second card is made using the ballerina outfit and another fantastic sentiment!! Tutu-riffic....that just kills me! *giggle* I used this week's Sketch Saturday sketch and used some awesome papers and embellishments from the Imaginisce line that I got from The Town Scrapper. I just love the princess-y feel. I made her supah sparkly too by adding some Shimmerz to her floaty dress! Love, love, love those Shimmerz!! Do ya think I like da bling?? Just a bit.

Okey dokey...now your next stop is one of my all-time favourite stampin' artists!! She is SO talented! I wanna be her when I grow up!! I'm so glad she's back with the MFT team! Head on over to Michele Boyer's blog and see what eye candy she has for ya!!! Then when ya finish hoppin', pop on over to the MFT site and pick up the new stamps!! (And maybe some Shimmerz too!!!)

MFT January Release and Blog Hop!!!!

Today marks the release of the first stamps of 2009 for My Favorite Things!! And let me tell ya, these four sets are FAN-FLIPPIN-TASTIC!!! I honestly can't decide which one is MY favorite!!

Now you are probably here, taking the MFT Blog Hop Tour but if you just happened to stop by my place, you might want to start the Hop from the beginning which starts at The MFT Lady's Blog!! Go ahead and start over there....go on....I'll wait here for ya!! *giggle*

So, I showed you the new Valentine Flopsey on Monday and today I'm going to feature the newest 'Who's That Girl?' set.....it's called Maid For You!!

Now isn't this image just a hoot??! And that sentiment....what a riot!!! I showed my husband this card and he just about choked!! Then he laughed his fool head off and wiggled his eyebrows at me!! Of course....he's a full-blooded Canadian male in the middle of winter....let's just leave it at that!! Baaaaaahahahaaaa!!

I stamped the main image on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured in most of it using my Copic markers. I used some of the best Basic Grey papers from the Blush line ...... how appropriate, right?? I paper pieced the 'wallpaper', which I think looks really cool!

I pulled out my fancy new Shark sewing machine and sewed up a few layers of dp and cardstock. The card base is Chocolate Chippy (something I'm craving right now since I'm back on the South Beach) and I used Real Red and Baja Breeze as complimentary colours. I added a couple of heart brads and some striped Baja Breeze ribbon and then of course, that hilarious sentiment. And the Maid for You set includes some other knee-slappin' phrases like 'With Love From Your Desperate Housewife' and the best one.....hang onto your inkpads ladies.....'Even When I'm Clean, I'm a Little Dirty'!!! *SNORT* Isn't that hilarious?? I'm dirty all the time.......I'm talkin' INK, ladies, INK!! Get your minds outta the gutter! I'm shocked! *giggle*

Don't forget that all four of this month's stamps are being released tonight at the MFT Forum on SCS! The party starts at 9pm EST with the sets going live at 10pm EST! I really hope you can make it because I have several more samples to show you!!

Now you can continue on the MFT Blog Hop and head over to the amazingly talented KIRSTEN'S place and see what she has to show you!! If you hop all the way to the end, you could win some yummy photopolymer goodness!!! And I'll see YOU tonight!!!

January MFTeaser!!!

Today begins the teasers for the new My Favorite Things release!!! There are four new sets that will be available Wednesday night and they are a hoot!!!

The set I'm showing you today is a new Flopsey set, just in time for the lovey dovey holiday!! It's Valentine Flopsey and he's holding a decorative heart, with just the right amount of space to stamp in some sweet sentiments!!

For this one I used UR A QT (You are a cutie!) and it also comes with Be Mine, BFF, Hugs, &, Kisses, Luv U and You make my heart hop! Perfect to make some quick and easy Valentine's cards or tags!

I made a small 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square base using Chocolate Chip and the dp is Basic Grey Euphoria, I think. I made the dp a little smaller, then cut it diagonally a few times and laid it out on my card base. I stamped Flopsey on Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured him in with my Copics. I used my Nestabilities to make the round layer, pop dotted it and pop dotted Flopsey. I added some pink ric rack at the bottom and some pink suede brads at the top!

Now the release party is on Wednesday night at 9pm EST in the MFT Forum and I'll be rushing home from work again to attend, but I'll be there!! We'll be sharing more samples of the great new January sets and having a blast yakkin' it up until the sets go live at 10pm EST.

I have to work this afternoon, so I'd better get busy doin' a little stampin' before I have to head out! Have a stampin' great day!!

Paper Doll Post....and a Party!!

Well, tonight is the release of the December sets by My Favorite Things!! Earlier this week you've seen Snowbunny Flopsey and Tote-ally Fantastic and today I'm going to show you Isabelle Paper Dolls!!

A lot of times stamping and paper piecing makes me feel like I'm playing with paper dolls and now we have the perfect stamp set for just that! This lovely little girl is Isabelle and the set comes with a bunch of different outfits and accessories so that you can dress her up any way you like!!

The first card I made is with her Mermaid outfit! I used Tangerine Tango for the base and lots of coordinating Inque Boutique papers. The sentiment is from Going Places and I added some Prima flowers and glittery brads and pop dotted Isabelle. The finishing touch on this card is that I painted her beautiful mermaid tail with Angel Wings Shimmerz! I don't think you can see it real well in the photo, but it's so sparkly in real life!!

The second card I made using what is actually a teddy bear costume, but I figured that everyone else would be using it for that. So I made the ears into eyes and coloured it green....now she is a frog! The card base is Real Red with Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Apricot Appeal accents. The dp is a glittery pattern by DCWV and I added some red brads and gingham ribbon. The sentiment is actually from the Cupcake Flopsey set. It originally said Hoppy Cupcake Day but I just left out the Cupcake part.

So I hope you can hang out with us tonight at the MFT release party! I have to work tonight until 8:30pm but I'll be there as soon as I can! The party starts at 9pm EST with the sets going live this month at 10pm EST. See you then!!

Tote-ally Fantastic!!!

Time for another MFTeaser!!! December's stamp sets are awesome and this month's Who's That Girl? set is no exception!!! If you are of the female persuasion....this set will 'speak' to you!! haha!!

My card today features Tote-ally Fantastic which is all about shoppin' and purses!!! What could be better.....well, shoppin' for stamps, of course!

I pulled out all my colourful Urban Prairie papers and embellishments that I picked up at The Town Scrapper and picked out my coordinating Copic markers and set to work. The card base is a 6x6 Basic Black square and I used Regal Rose and So Saffron cardstock for accents. The fibres and brads are all Urban Prairie too! The sentiment is one of four that come with the set that also include Girls Just Wanna Have Funds, You Give 'Bag Lady' a Whole New Meaning and You're Tote-ally Fantastic! And of course, there are several images of some very trendy purses!!

I attached some Prima hudrangeas with the BG brads, used that fuzzy fibre across the middle and pop dotted the main image. So bright and colourful! I have a special friend that I am giving this card to.

Don't forget to join us in the MFT Forum tomorrow night for the release party at 9pm EST with the sets going live this month a little earlier at 10pm EST.

Well, I'm off to work today. Hope you get to do some stampin'!! Think of me while you're gettin' inky, will ya?

Snowbunny Flopsey MFTeaser!!

I told you I'd be back!! This is my second post for today, so be sure to scroll down and check out the cards in the first post!

Today kicks of three days of teasers for the December My Favorite Things releases!!! Such fun!! This card features the newest Flopsey image and I just love this little guy!!

I pulled out some Berry Bliss dp and coloured Flopsey with my matching Copic markers! He looks great in those chocolatey colours and I imagine he's probably drinking some yummy hot chocolate too, don't you??!

The card base is Close to Cocoa with Purely Pomegranate matting. I used my Nesties to make the main layer and I also used my Airbrush system on the white circle layer while the die was still on it, to do the pink area. It's only like, my third time using it, so forgive me if it's not exactly perfect, but I don't think it looks too bad.

I added some nice, big chocolatey BG brads, some stitched grosgrain ribbon and a BG button. I pop dotted the circle layers and of course, Flopsey himself!

Mark Wednesday night off on your calendar so that you can join us in the MFT Forum on Splitcoast. We'll be having a wonderful release party with lots of samples and lots of laughs! It starts at 9pm EST with the sets going live for purchase at 10pm EST. Just wait 'til you see the other sets.....I'll be back tomorrow with more!!!
