Thankful Butterfly!!

Hey, hey, hey!!! It's Kraaaaaaaaaaftin' Kimmie!!!! (*think the beginning to the Fat Albert show......man am I dating myself......and NO, I was NOT gonna say Fat Kimmie!!*) I hope you are all enjoying some time off this weekend and sharing a meal or a visit with your family!!! Unfortunately, here in Southwestern Ontario it is more like Christmas than Easter, what with all the darn snow (which, if you ask me, is a four letter word and therefore a swear!!!)! This morning I had to dig out my winter coat and leather gloves, which I thought I wasn't going to see again until the end of the year! And after work tonight I had to brush the snow off my car before I could drive home!!! Disgusting!! So there goes my brilliant idea of taking family photos on the green grass in the park this weekend!! Hmph!!

Anyhoo, pardon the rant. I'm done now.

Here is a spring and fresh new card that I made last night with a lovely Rhona Farrar stamp that a special friend sent to me!! I was determined to use it to make a card last night, so I stamped it on shimmery white paper in black Stazon ink. I watercoloured the butterfly with Certainly Celery ink, making it a little darker where the black swirlies are on the wings. I also used Bashful Blue to shade around the outside of the wings and on the antennae. I punched out a CC Giga Scallop and used my black pen to do the dots. I used Bashful Blue for the card base with Basic Black to mat the LilyKate Basic Grey patterned paper. Then I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment on BB paper in black, added some black dots and then I used my new Stardust Gelly Roll pen to go over the swirlies and the antennae and the sentiment. You can't see it in the picture but it's glittery and purrrrrrrrrty!! I added a bit of blue gingham ribbon and pop dotted the main image!!

Hope your weekend is springy like this card and not snowy like my back yard!!!! Hey!! That rhymed....**snort**!!

Oh I simply adore this card! I want it *wink* It's so pretty!!!

By the way, I too say snow is a rotten 4 letter word. Yuck! I am in Michigan and it's gloomy and cold and snow flurries are blowing. Grrrrrr

Beautiful Butterfly!

And it snowed on us on the Saturday before Easter, too. There's just something not right about that! :(
