Thoughtful......

I am always in need of Thank You cards....in fact, that's probably the most common type of card that I make. So here is one I did just the other day, using the watercolour technique!

I started out by stamping my Doodle This images on watercolour paper in black Stazon Ink. Then I used my SU Aquapainter and my reinkers to 'paint' my images. This is only like, the third or fourth time I've done this technique, so don't look too closely, but I think I'm improving. And that's the whole point of this stampin' thing, right??? Right.

So I tend to do a light layer of the colour that I'm doing over the whole area and then go back in and darken it up in certain areas. I think this gives it depth and shading. I chose Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke and Summer Sun for my colours. I also used a tiny bit of Bordering Blue to shade around the images. I stamped the AA base card with the flowers and doodles from Doodle This in AA and then stamped 'thoughtful' by Hero Arts in Basic Black. I matted the main image on Bravo Burgundy cardstock and added some grosgrain ribbon. That's it!! Easy peasy!! And now I have another Thank You card for when I need it....which is right now!!!

Such a beautiful card! You make me want to get out watercolors again. :) Hey, that might be a good thing to do this weekend when we go camping and it's freezing cold outside and we don't have internet.

Oh Kimmie - it's beee-autiful! I just love the look of watercolor paper. You achieved the gorgeous shading that always evades me when I'm trying to watercolor. Great job!

I have been wanting this set, but it is so darned expensive! You do it justice, and make me want it more. Love the watercolor. Wondering why you use the aqua painters instead of the blender pen, though. I haven't tried it with the painter, but I use the blender pen all the time. Is your painter full of water and you dip into the puddle of ink, or what?
Thanks!
