March MFTeaser - Day 1!!!

I'm back with a little taste of the wonderful offerings from My Favorite Things this month!!! This new mini set called Ride 'Em Cowgirl is just too adorable!!! I had a lot of fun playing with it yesterday!!

I decided to make this one look like a picture hanging on a wall because I think the faux wood technique looks perfect with this western style set! If you don't know how to do the faux wood technique.....it's VERY simple! You take a piece of Creamy Caramel cardstock, drag your white craft ink stamp pad over it in one direction only, let it dry, then drag your Chocolate Chip classic ink stamp pad over it in the same manner. It looks just like barn board!!! The card base is a square, layerd with the faux wood piece, then I added some corner hardware from We R Memorykeepers. The 'hanging picture' was stamped on Wausau white with Archival Brilliance ink in Graphite Black and coloured in using my Copic markers. The CChip matting was done using my rectangle Nestabilities and I threaded some brown linen thread through the corners, hung it over a square brad and pop dotted the whole image. I stamped, coloured and cut out the cactus and stamped the sentiment directly on the base!

Ride 'Em Cowgirl, along with another set I'll show you later called Punch a Bunch will be released Wednesday night, so mark it down on your calendar and you can join us in the My Favorite Things Forum over on Splitcoast for a super fun time and the release of the new stamp sets!!! Stop in between 9-11pm EST for lots of yakkin' and laughs!!! Oh and also you can find out how to become a Guest Designer for April!!

This is just fabulous Kim!! I love doing the barnboard technique too, it looks so like the real thing. What a great idea to make it look like the main image is a hanging picture on the barnboard wall. Just love it!!
