April MFT Par-tay!!!

Well, if you missed last night's My Favorite Things Release Party.....it was another doozy!!! You know, I've only been on the Design Team for MFT since last December and I'm thinkin' that somebody should have warned me about the ladies on this team......they's crazy!!!! Hahahaha!!!

Anyway, here is a bright and sunny card that I whipped up yesterday afternoon using the new Can Ya Dig It? stamp set that was released last night. I desperately wanted to paper piece the lady's dress, so I pulled out my new Summer Picnic dp by SU and found the sheet with the smallest design. I then chose the pretty coordinating dp to use on the base of the square Real Red card and used those colours in the focal image. I stamped the lady on a piece of Wausau bright white cardstock. Then I took the stamp with the flowers and tiny chickie from Hoppy Easter and stamped it beside her to look like she is trying to catch the chick so he doesn't fall.....so cute! Then I took the bird stamps from By the Seashore and stamped them in the sky. I coloured the image in using my Copic markers and paper pieced her dress and gloves. I matted her on Real Red and Certainly Celery and pop dotted her on the card. I added some red clips on the left and tied them together with some striped grosgrain ribbon and added some Prima flowers, attaching them with matching SU brads. The last step was the sentiment which I made from two different sets. I could only find 'Hoppy Spring' or 'Happy Easter', but since the fonts are the same, I just inked up half of each stamp and put them together to make 'Happy Spring'!!! I just LOVE combining different MFT sets to make a card!!

Well, today was SUPPOSED to be my day off, but I have to go in for three hours this afternoon for a teleconference.....on BLOGGING, no less!!! I mean, really!!! Couldn't I teach the class??!! hahaha!! Actually some libraries are using blogs on their websites these days to promote different programs and book clubs and stuff, so I'm going to check out what exactly they are doing and I might possibly be involved in creating a blog for the library!!! How fun!!! But I'm going to try to get inky today too, before I have to go!!!

Toodles!!

Kimmie, can I ask you what weight the Wausau bright white cardstock is and do you find it easy to blend with the copics or is it very absorbent? I wonder also where you can get it from? Thanks so much. Kim

I know what you mean about those crazy ladies on MFT DT -- someone should have warned me, too. They're awful! ; )

I love this card and MUST know -- how did you do your sky?! It's perfect!

I totally agree, their parties should totally have a warning label. I suggested BYOD(Bring your own Depends!!). Your samples are super cute though and a joy to look at, I am so happy you are on the team!!
