Mojo Monday - Oceans of Love!!
9:08 AM
First of all, a very Happy Father's Day to my Daddy-o who is the best father and grandfather two lucky girls could ever ask for! And also to my hunny, who is the best husband and father the same two lucky girls could ever ask for! We love you!
I'm pretty stinkin' excited today because I have a card that I created for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge! This is rather a momentous occasion for me because....well, I haven't done a card for anything but Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps challenges or KKS sponsored challenges since.....well, I really can't tell you when! It feels pretty cool to do a card just for fun and I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! Don't you love that feeling!? I used to play with the Mojo Monday sketch a lot, but since I started my own business....not so much. :(
The sketch is a good one...perfect for lots of KKS images, so I decided to play with one of our mermaids, Marina! I also cracked open my Happy Go Lucky Lime Twist paper pad for the very first time and played with the gorgeous colours in there! LOVE the colour combos in this pad!

I stamped Marina on Neenah with Memento ink of course and coloured her up with my Copic markers. I thought she would look pretty funky with fuchsia hair and I spent some extra time dotting the shaded parts of her lovely tail.
Now I don't usually cut the mermaids out because the images are so intricate but I decided that I wanted to try with this one.....guess I was feeling adventurous!! Note to self: next time I want to cut an image out, don't use the super thick Neenah cardstock! My hand was so sore and cramped afterwards, not to mention I was all sweaty, stressing about accidentally lopping her head off or slipping on the narrow part of her fin! And that little fish with all his fins? Aagh! But it all worked out and she's still in one piece!

I used my Nesties to cut out and emboss the circle and scalloped circle layers, then added some narrow grosgrain ribbon across the middle. I had some fun glittery dots to add the trio in the top corner and then I used the Oceans of Love sentiment from our Mermaid Sentiments set. Lastly I just added a bit of sparkle to the fishy and to Marina's tall with my clear Spica pen!!
Whew!! So the card is done AND it's posted in time for the Mojo Monday deadline!! Double cool! Hopefully I can try it again next week! Fingers crossed!
Happy kraftin'!

Great card Kimmie - love her hair! Hooray for crafting just for fun!
Gorgeous Kimmie, love the colors!
Wow Kimmie, this is awesome!! What a beautiful card, fantastic colouring and I'm so impressed you didn't chop anything off! That had to be really tricky cutting!! Absolutely love it!! Mommy
Your card looks awesome!!! Nice!! :)
This is GORGEOUS, Kimmie! And so happy you got a chance to stamp for fun! Of course, I blame Canada Post... But the strike has to be good for SOMETHING! As far as paper, you need to give Copic X-Press blending paper a try - it's my go-to for almost everything I do now, especially my beloved KKS. :) It blends like a dream and is a lot thinner than Neenah which makes cutting much easier. Hugs, gf!
