Happy Canada Day!!! Let's Celebrate!!

What a beautiful day to celebrate Canada!! I am proud to be a Canadian!!! And here's my card to prove it!! Heehee!!

This is of course, a High Hopes Rubber Stamp called Canadian Friends! I borrowed this one from a friend and stamped it on whisper white with black Stazon ink. I coloured them in using various Prismacolour pencils, odorless mineral spirits and my blending stumps. Umm...I'm still not so hot at that technique but I'm gettin' there. I doodled around the edge with my black journaler and used Basic Black and Real Red cardstock along with some black gingham. Very simple (but that colouring took me forevah!!!). So Happy Canada Day all!!

NOW, I'd like to just say I'm sorry for neglecting my blogger duties on Saturday....I actually got to sleep in!!!! I was shocked too......I can never sleep past about 8am but on Saturday, I woke up at 10:30 so I didn't have time to post!! What a slacker, I know!! My Mom even called me and said, "How come you haven't posted today?? You're gonna get fired!!" Hahahaaaaaaaaaa!!! Please don't fire me!

THEN, my honey came home from work, we made brunch together (eggs and toast for us and pancakes for the Emster) and then we took off!! We dropped Emileigh off at her friend's house for a sleepover and then went to London. We drove around looking for another stamp store I was told about but alas, we couldn't find it. BUT, I did get to go to Stamp Art again!! Heehee!! Remember the store I went to last week??? Well, I picked up a few more things!! It's an awesome store!! If you get a chance to go there....tell them Kimmie sent ya!!

I also got this AWESOME craft shelf by Making Memories at Michael's!! I used my trusty coupon.....otherwise I wouldn't have gotten it! So when we got home, Al put it up for me!! Then of course, I had to fill it and make it look purdy!! The bottom two shelves have dowling and are ready to fill with ribbon. I filled the bottom one with all my loose spools (the rest are in my Tower 'o Ribbon) but I've left the upper one empty and just filled it will my Stickles and Liquid Pearls for now. You see the current Stampin' Up spools of ribbon which are 25 yards, are too big to fit. Soooooooo I'm waitin' to get some of the new spools which are 15 yards!! You see......I have a plan!!! Mooohooohaaahaaaa!!! (that was supposed to be a dastardly laugh!)

Okay!! So.....I'd like to celebrate Canada Day and the fact that I am almost at 25,000 posts!!! SO! If you can spot (or guess) at least one of the NEW stamps on my shelf that I purchased today, comment in this post and you will be in the running for some Kimmie's Kandy!!! (Notice I gave you a closeup shot, so you can get a better look!) The random winner will receive this little collection of items from Around the Block!! A pair of scissors, a package of adhesive and a perfect little travel size pack of wipes for your stampin' pleasure!!! And LOOK!! They're all PINK, so when you use them, you'll think of ME!! Heehee!! This draw is open all week, so be sure to enter! I will draw the winner on Saturday, July 7th in the evening and post the winner on Sunday!!

OH I love your new shelf! I am so going to Michaels to see if I can find it. Your card is adorable.
As for what is a new stamp, I'm not sure but I'll guess the 3 piggies(are they piggies?) in tutu's.

Hi Kimmie, What a wonderful craft shelf. I love it where you can put the ribbons. I will have to check our Michaels out here in California to see if they have any. I am totally redoing my craft room including a new L shaped desk so I can get my computer and sewing machine in the same room. I am going to guess its the Canada Stamp you used on the adorable card. Thanks for the opportunity for blog candy. I also loved your flip flops stamp. Will have to look for one down here.

Your card is so cute! Your new shelf is just awesome and so decorative as well as functional. I haven't seen it at Michaels, but I rarely go down any aisles except stamps and scrapbooking. You can always tell when I have been there by the drool all over the stamps. LOL
I think your newest is the monkey set.

What a fabulous card. I'm going to say the little Hedgie in the Flowerpot is new.

Piggies in Tutu's, how cute is that? You've got to tell us who the maker of that stamp is! Love what you did with the shelf. I've got to look around more at Michael's next time I go. I usually don't get much farther than the stamping/scrapbooking aisles! I collect Moose, so you can imagine how much I like your card! Thanx for sharing, Kimmie.

Love your shelf! I'm going to guess you bought some Penny Black stamps - Hedgehogs in tutus, Hedge hiding in flowerpot & what else I can't imagine. But I do love the little sheep on bottom right-hand shelf! I've got to order him/her! The card is so cute with that little beaver & the moose by the Mountie. Have a special day.

What a cool shelf!! I am going guess one of the new stamps is the dancing.... are they hedgehogs? I know not too long ago you said you didn't own a hedgehog stamp and until recently and now I see you have a few. So I will say the dancing hedgehogs is new.

OK, my guess for one of your new stamps is the caffeine one. What a great statement! (And I don't think I've seen it on a card lately!)
Thanks for sharing with us and Happy Canada Day to you too! We celebrated with fireworks and mosquitoes last night.

YAY for sleeping in, I wish I could do that every day!!! hee hee
Here's my guess:

OMG Kimmie I MUST HAVE THAT SHELF!!!! What area is it in at Michaels?!?!?!? Oh and I just LOVE the penny black hedgies in tu-tu's, too cute!!! Sorry I haven't been around to comment much, but I'm here to bug ya all the time now. :) xoxox

Love your blog!!! Your new shelf is great. I've seen it on-line but not up close and personal and certainly NOT at our local Michael's. Our area seems to be slow in getting some the latest things (took 1 year to get Fancy Pants chipboard) so I often have to resort to the internet for my supplies. I am going to guess that you purchased more hedgehog stamps. Thanks for letting me play.

Once again Kimmie you have inspired me to try and figure out some organizing, but it is oh so hard with my room being in the basement, and not being able to hang anything on the wall.

I'm so happy you got to sleep in, I'm exactly like you can't seem to sleep past 8!!!
I'll say that the new stamp is the fish!

Sharon in NE said...

Hmmmm...perhaps the beach one in the top right hand corner. Its kinda hard to see, but if its not new, then, I want to see you use it because it looks adorable. I don't think I've seen you use the caffeine one either, so that's a second guess.

I LOVE that shelf! You lucky girl, you!

As for which stamp is new aren't they all "old"? If my DH walked in and asked if a stamp was new I'd answer, "Oh no, that's not new, I've had that forever." *evil grin*

Hi there, I am going to guess that the dog with the bone in its mouth is a new stamp. Great blog by the way!

Your shelf is great, and I love your stamp collection. You really do have some great ones and obviously have the same taste as I have. Thanks for offering more candy.

Looks like you love the hedgehogs so I'll have to go with a new hedgehog stamp. What a great way to display them.

New day, new guess. if thats allowed. I was looking at them again and if its not the flip flops then its gotta be the long legged horse. I have never seen one used on a card and its so quirky.

I love your blog and your tutu hedgehogs really caught my eye. I spy a cute stamp on the bottom left of a girl that is dancing. Is she one of your new ones? My little girl was in a recital last weekend & it reminds me of her.

I want to take a guess & say the monkey is a new stamp. You have a very nice blog.
