Kimmie's Kreation Celebration - Day 1!!!

Well, Happy Birthday to Meeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I woke up this morning to the smell of something baking......and I thought I was imagining it. So I dragged my 'old' butt out of bed and went downstairs. Well, firstly, this is the sight that my bleary eyes first saw!!!

A dozen pretty pink roses from my honey!!! And I wasn't dreaming either.....he was baking me a cake!!! AND making me eggs and peameal bacon for breakfast....AND the coffee was already made!!! Aaahhhh....that makes this girl happy!!!

Sooooo.....what do you think of the name?? Kimmie's Kreation Celebration!!! I think it's perfect and Lisa Helmts came up with it!! So Lisa, send me an email and I will get a little something out in the mail for ya!!!

Okay!! Are you ready for the first challenge???? I hope you are, 'cause it's a doozy!!! No, not really!! I want to make sure that everyone who wants to, can play along so the challenges will all be easy-peasy!!! But I am going to give you the hardest challenge first so that you have lots of time to complete it!

One of my biggest challenges is altering items!! I tend to stick to what I know which is cards and scrapbook pages....I rarely stretch myself and go outside of my box!! Well, for this challenge, I did!! And you can too!!!

For Kimmie's Kreation Celebration Challenge #1, you will need to Alter An Item!! It can be ANY item....a can, a tin, a notebook, a clipboard....anything! Just take something ordinary and plain and decorate it with stamps and paper and embellishments!! I posted this challenge on the first day, so that if you don't have anything handy, you might be able to find something this week and join in the Altering Challenge!!!

For my sample, I took a lovely plain white lunch tin that I got from The Town Scrapper and altered it using DCWV patterned paper, Magnolia stamps and a whole lotta ribbon!!! Now you must forgive the picture as it was a rather dreary day when I photographed it and I had to use the flash. Believe me, it looks WAY better up close! Just ask Phebe, Ellen, Bonnie, Connie and my Mom....they've seen it in real life! But my idea was to make a cute little storage unit for all those loose unmounted Magnolia stamps......I think I might need to make another one, as I have a fair few of them...hahahahahaha!!

So here are the rules for Kimmie's Kreation Celebration Challenges (I just like sayin' that!!): your creations must be NEW creations, you have until Monday, February 11th at 8pm EST to link up your designs in the appropriate post on my blog OR email me with a small pic, if you don't have a blog or gallery. If you do upload your creations to Splitcoast please use the corresponding code in your keywords, so that we can all check them out!!! The keyword for today's challenge is KKCC1!!

OH!! I almost forgot?? Did you want to know what the winner of this challenge will win?? You don't?? Oh okay then, never mind........I'm just yankin' yer chain!!! Of course I'll tell ya!!! The winner of KKCC1 will win.........some NEW High Hopes Rubber Stamps!! How about that?? The winner will receive the Large Easter Bunny
AND the Small Easter Chickadee stamps, just in time for Easter card making!!!

This altering challenge had me looking at all sorts of things in a different light! I even rescued a cylindrical tub the electrician put in the recycling bin! Didn't actually alter it just now as I think it will make a great box for a gift - will think again when I have the recipient in mind. I did however alter this giveaway notebook so i have somehwere to record all the sketches in. There are three pictures
