This Just In.....Stamps Promote Education!!!

Good title, huh?? It's true.....well, at least that's my latest rationale for buying stamps!!! After reading this post, you'll agree I'm sure! *giggle*

So Emileigh had to make a poster for a media display about one of the many books she had to read for English class this semester. She decided to do it on the book Marley and Me, which is a memoir about a very special dog and actually they are currently making it into a movie starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. Well, I just happened to have a bunch of 'doggie stuff' in my craft room, so I let her use whatever she wanted to make the poster.

It had to be a 12x17 inch poster so we took two 12x12 whisper white pieces of cardstock and attached them to extend the length and then covered it in this awesome patterned paper by Around the Block for the base. It was her idea to make the title with the Whimsical SU alphabet stamps that way and attach the little bone buttons. The collar was my idea which we made from pawprint twill and We R Memorykeepers hardware.

We stamped the bone-shaped dogtag from the My Favorite Things set Friends Furever on Brocade Blue cardstock and she chose the sentiment to go inside. We attached it through one of the eyelets with a keyring and pop dotted the tag. We also stamped the boy and dog scene and pop dotted it on the scalloped oval piece at the bottom left. She had to include some quotes from the book as well which she printed on the computer and we matted on coordinating cardstock. We added pawprint brads and a little rubber charm as well. The layout was totally her design!! I guess some of my papercrafting may have rubbed off on her!

So SEE!!! All the $$ I spend on stamping have really assisted in Emileigh's high school education....at least that's the latest rationale that I'm using for shopping at my local stamp/scrapbook stores.......feel free to use it!!!

Have a super duper day!!
