Dare to Get Dirty and Katharina's Sketch!!!

Okay I was going to hang on to this post until tomorrow, but I can't wait! I LOVE how this card turned out and I want to share!!! Today, I don't go in to work at the library until the evening, so I spent the whole morning working on this card!! I know *insert eye roll here*!! YES, it really does take me that long to create ONE card!! Oh well, I think it was worth it!!!

Firstly, I wanted to use Katharina's sketch that she has posted for this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge!! Then I HAD to join in with Jody Morrow's Dare to Get Dirty Challenge for Ribbon Addicts like me!! The challenge was to choose your ribbon first and then let it dictate the style and colour of the rest of your design!!

Well, I have been literally drooling over this ribbon.....actually lace, I guess that came on a spool from Inque Boutique which coordinates with the latest Cabana line of papers that I got from the wonderful Phebe at The Town Scrapper!!! I am in LOVE with this line!!! So summery but still soft and sweet!!! So I started with the lacey ribbon and chose the dps to go with! Then I stamped the brick wall on a square of Wausau bright white cardstock and coloured it using several grey and brown Copics for shading. Then I stamped this lovely new Tilda image and coloured her in using coordinating Copic markers. Can you believe this is the first time she's gotten inky?? Tragic, I tell you.

I cut out Tilda and also one of the chubby little birds and attached them to the brick wall layer. I used a 6x6 base in textured Groovy Guava cardstock and used So Saffron and Apricot Appeal for accent layers. I attached my lace using Zip Dry glue which is AWESOME stuff!! It can be used with ribbon and lace and it doesn't seep through the fabric or show up underneath!! It's amazing stuff and works for many other embellishments too! I pop dotted the middle layer and attached some Prima Hydrangeas with Paper Studio brads and added Stardust Stickles to her wings and I did some highlighting with white acrylic paint.

Now, you may be noticing my sweet little sentiment at the bottom there. Isn't it SO appropriate for this card??? Well, I got the okay from Christine at All That Scraps to share this card with you, because it features one of the yet-to-be-released Sentiment stamps on it!!!! They will be available in a set with over 30 perfect sentiments!!! It is a MUST have set....wait until ya see it!!!

Okay, I've also got some SUPER exciting news to share with you, so I'll wait to do that until tomorrow!! Heehee!!!
