Friday Sketcher's #9 .... and NEW High Hopes Rubber Stamps!!!

Today is a very exciting day!!! Not only am I sharing the new Challenge #9 from Friday Sketchers but today you can see ALL the new High Hopes Releases!!!!! Woohoo!!! You'd better grab a cup of coffee and a piece of paper so that you can check out all the new images and jot down which ones you have to order first!!!! Heehee!!

This sketch is provided by Carole from England, who is a fabulous stamper, so be sure to check out her blog!! It is a nice and simple layout with lots of room to play!! So it was perfect for my first card with the new HH stamps!!! And I chose to have some fun with the underwater themed stamps!!!

First I chose the patterned papers from the DCWV Summer Stack and the colours were just right and cut them according to the sketch and attached them to the Green Galore square card base and layer of Real Red. Then I cut a smaller square from the Wausau bright white cardstock. I stamped the waves border across the top to start my scene. Then I stamped Diver Dan, Clammy and Pearl and also the Coral One a couple of times on the bottom. Then I drew in the sand across the bottom by hand. I coloured the scene in using my Copic markers of course. Then I stamped Sweet Anabela the Mermaid on a separate piece of cardstock, coloured her and cut her out, then layered her on the scene using pop dots. I stamped the sentiment, Making Waves, on Soft Sky cardstock and layered it on a few circles and a scalloped circle to make the sentiment panel and pop dotted it too. The blue layer is Brocade Blue and I attached the whole layer to the main card.

Then I pulled out my Stardust Sakura gel pen and went over the outlines of the mermaid and also the pearl and they are so pretty and sparkly. Then I added some crystal lacquer to the wave across the top, Dan's mask and his bubbles. I'm SO happy with the way this first High Hopes card turned out!! And I've been playing with lots more since I made this one, so be sure to come back in a few days to see some more!!! I'll be playin' with them for a looooong time, because there are so many to choose from and combine!!!

And there aren't just underwater sea images, although there are a bunch more of them, like jellyfish, a dolphin, a whale, an eel, a sea turtle, an octopus and so many wonderful sentiments to go with them!! There is also a line of circus images with a magician, a horse, a clown, and a sea lion! But it doesn't end there....there are also the most adorable pirates!!! Just wait 'til you see them all!!! It's like Christmas, I swear!!!

So head on over to High Hopes and check out their new releases!!! And don't forget this week's Friday Sketch Challenge #9!!

I'll be back later with another post featuring some previews from another new CCDesigns stamp set being released next week by All That Scraps!!!
