Peace on Earth Charlotte....and some Christmas Candy!!

I have some super duper Whiff of Joy blog candy for you today, but first the card!!

Since I had my Wassail dp out from yesterday's Hanglar card, I decided to make a card using Angel Charlotte! I also found an awesome sketch to use, over on Our Creative Corner that was perfect for this image.

The card base is Always Artichoke and the rest is the Wassail dp by Basic Grey. I stamped Charlotte on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. I used E53, E51 and E50 colours on her angelic wings and I think they look just right, don't you? I cut her out and pop dotted her on the Nesties layer. I added the sentiment by Papertrey on a strip and gave it a ribbon end, then attached some sparkly Prima poinsettias with a BG brad. The buttons are also from the Wassail line. I finished the card off by adding sparkle to Charlottes wings and star necklace, using my Sakura Stardust gel pen!

Now for the candy!!! I have a wonderful Whiff of Joy Christmas Tree to give away to one lucky winner!! Just leave me a comment here in this post and tell me what was your favourite Christmas gift that you ever received....or gave to someone else!! Leave your comment by Sunday, December 14th at midnight EST and I will post a winner on Monday morning!

I'm the first poster? Woohoo! Love the card Kimmie--it's gorgeous and thanks for the chance to win.

As for my favorite christmas gift--well, I can't really pick anything. For me, it's not about the gifts, it's about the giving. I love giving, and it's watching the look on people's faces when they open their gift that is the biggest gift for me.
Sappy, I know--but that's how it is for me.

I love this Charlotte card! So pretty and festive.

I love the happy look on the angel's face anfd the beautiful color of her dress.
My favorite Christmas gift was a pair of star shaped earrings with a tiny diamond chip in them from my Mom and Dad. I got them when I had my ears pierced at age 13 and still have them-I'm 58 now! Whenever I look at them, I remember just how wonderful my parents were and how we all loved each other. It was just the 3 of us and we were always together.

One of the best gifts that my family went together to give was a Bible for my dad. My dad and mom had always gone to church and worshiped until my mom died of cancer. My dad became bitter and quit going to church. I guess too many memories and the ol' devil just hardened his hard. Well, he did start going back to church and one year all of us pitched in together and got him a new Bible to start his new life with Christ.

My dad recently died. My brother (who is not a christian) decided he wanted the Bible. At first I was a bit upset but the Lord spoke to me and said that one day my brother may pick up that Bible and read it. I have several Bibles in my house that I can pick to read from. I also have God's Word hidden in my heart.

Hopefully, this gift that we gave my dad will also go on to my brother and one day he will accept Christ into his heart.

LOVE the card. Beautiful! My favorite gift was a beautiful pink sapphire and diamond necklace from my hubby last year. (Diamond is my oldest sons birthstone, and sapphire was supposed to be our youngest sons!) It was put in a box full of money. :) $1s of course!

My favorite Christmas Gift was from my grandparents about 35 years ago. They bought me a Thumblina Doll, which I really wanted. I still have her and her pull string still works. Every time I hold my Thumblina doll I feel like that little 8 year old girl again that got her Christmas Wish and the love that my grandparents had for me. As I look back it was as much their favorite gift as it was mine when I recall the smiles on their face when they seen mine light up.

This card is GORGEOUS!!! I don't know about my fave Christmas gift BUT I will say that I LOVE giving and I love doing it in a creative way. So much fun! This year I'm giving my sister a skyline chili gift card in a skyline can- can't wait to see her face. And of course, any Christmas I can spend with my nephew is a gift for me.

This was fun to think about. My favorite present ever has been my Basset Hound Cassidy. We got her as a puppy at Christmas 2005. I'd been wanting one for more than 25 years. And she was worth the wait.

My favorite gift was something I got for everyone in my family and my boyfriends family. We ordered tickets to see the Christmas Spectacular and we didn't only see the show but we also had dinner together, saw the big tree in NYC and spent the whole day together. It was wonderful!

Lovely card!

I think my favourite christmas gift was my sewing machine. My mom and dad bought it to me. I had no idea, and was REALLY surprised when I got it! I LOVE it, just wish I had my own sewing room, so I could use it more! (But I'm not complaing, I have my own room for stamping! :P )

Pamela, your comment brought a little tear to my eye. I just lost my dad too, and have a brother who unfortunately isn't a christian. Maybe he's the one who should get my dads Bible.

My favorite Christmas gift was the Barbie Dream House that "Santa" brought me when I was 6. It was incredible. My brothers were jealous that I got such a large gift and I was on top of the world!!

In our family we never give presents. That is something I do not associate with christmas.

But the best gift ever is that Jesus was born on christmas day.

My best christmas gift ever came last year right before christmas, when my daughter was born. She was born 4 weeks early, so a little unexpected. Anyway thanks for the chance to win a stamp.

What a cute pink blog you have !!! I was visiting some crafting blogs and found your yours while visiting Joy's Blog. You ladies are so talented and creative.. your card is beautiful something my DD would love.I would love a chance to enter your give away.

The best thing I got for Christmas was a beautiful box filled with almost a hundred homemade get well cards from my crafting sisters while undergoing treatments. The creativeness, time, words, and prayers, left me in tears and with a heart filled with unspeakable Joy. Handmade gifts just cannot compare to any other kind.

best christmas gift, wow, so hard to pick. I think my favorite was a couple of Christmases ago, well, I think 5 years ago. My brother and I both went home for Christmas. It was the first time in almost as long that the whole family was together for the holidays, and it was great!

I love taking people to mass on Christmas, even though i am Jewish -- I know that when someone needs a ride, it makes a difference.

I also like to volunteer to do their job on that day, if they are required to work.

My favorite gift received is going to the Mothers of Preschoolers Holiday tea -- they make it so special!

Thanks for the chance to win!

Hi Kimmie. I came over from WoJ to see what you'd used to colour the image with: I love the depth of the red dress and the colour of the wings: I have the same stamp but no copics unfortunately :(
Of course I would love a tree to go with the angel!
I think the best Christmas present I ever had was the bright orange shirt my mom once bought me - I thought she'd gone mad but it looked fantastic on and changed my whole view on bright colours.

Hi Kimmie!! I love your work!! Your cards are great!!
One of my fav. gifts was from when I was little, probably around 8 or so, I asked Santa for a barbie house...My parents didnt have much money, but they got me that house! Our toy room was in the basement and a few years later it flooded so we had to throw it out:(But I found the same house 3 years ago at value village still in the box for 8$ !! almost an antique by now !

love the card! Its simply stunning!

My favorite gift? Would probably be when i finally got a cell phone! My dad wrapped it and had it under the tree and called it so the box would ring. How funny that is now because it was such a novelty then to have a cell phone! I was a freshman in college. Now most 13 year olds have their own cell phones!

Gorgeous card, Kimmie! She's adorable.

My favorite Christmas gift ever was a little stationery pad I received from my father when I was 11. It had adorable little bears on it, and he wrote a long letter to me on the very first page and I've treasured it always. Last year - 22 Christmases later, my father gave me another letter for Christmas. I have it by my nightstand and constantly re-read it. We've never been close, and he doesn't talk much, so those two letters are more precious than anything he could have ever bought me.

I woke up one Chrsitmas morning to a bright red brand spanking new dirt bike (as close to the tree as possible)! I was so surprised! Those were fun days with DH! Merry stampin' Deb

This is such a wonderful card !!

My favorite Christmas gifts every year are the ones that my boys have made themselves in school, brought home, hidden in their closet and then put under the tree to give to us on Christmas. They always make something nice and put all their love into it. These are the best and most cherished presents.

Hi Kimmie
Another gorgeous card from you, the colouring is perfect for the image.
My favourite Christmas gift was my daughter Kate, due on Christmas Day 26 years ago and she arrived a tad late on the 28th December.

Leonie said...

I don't have a favourite christmas gift because we don't give gifts with christmas. On 5th December we celebrate Sinterklaas, we give eachother gifts and it's a great party. On christmas day it's about being together and have a good time.

Last year Christmas I got a special gift (well, for me it was a gift). Everybody in the family, husband, older son, mother-in-law, father-in-law and greatgrand mother, got sick of rota virus (very nasty and contageous virus, dengerous for small children). Only me and my other son did not get sick. At that time the litlle one was only 2 months old.

Super cute card! Let's see my favorite gift that I ever gave to someone was to my hubby last year. I surprised him by redoing his high school scrapbook of old football pictures, articles etc. that his mom and he had collected. He thought the scrapbook had been lost during one of our moves but secretly I had tucked it away knowing I would surprise him with it! He loved it!
