Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella.....

Good Sunday morning, stampers! It's time for another fab High Hopes Challenge and this week Ying would like us to use heat embossing on our designs! I gotta admit, I'm lazy and I'm not big on techniques because you have to pull out so much stuff to do one simple thing, so I don't often heat emboss anything. So I did the simple thing and just embossed the lined image, but you can do more fancy things if ya like!

This is also one of the cards that we'll be making today at the Playin' with Copics class at Scrappin' Great Deals! All four cards will be featuring the new High Hopes release stamps and we're gonna have a blast! Click here if you'd like to see my other design, you'll really 'dig' it...hehe! But if you can't make today's class, we're doing it again on Friday, May 15th and you can sign up by calling Sheila at the store to reserve your spot.

So for this little cutie, I coloured her in using my Copics, then coloured the umbrella again and cut it out. I used my colourless blender pen to make a polka dot pattern on it and then pop dotted it on the original layer. I also added some crystal lacquer to the raindrop and roughed up all the edges for a distressed look.

Okay, I gotta fly! Gotta get all packed up and head on over to the store. Have a great rest of the weekend!!
