Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #17!! And MORE Krafty Peeks!
7:00 AM
Oooooh the excitement is mounting!!! Release day is almost here!! Tomorrow morning all the new images and sentiments will be available at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!! AND we'll have our Krafty Blog Hop, complete with random prizes!!
For today, we've got this week's challenge over on the KKS Challenge Blog!! This week our hostess is the incredibly talented Melanie Holtz who is one of our Guest Designers! She's called her challenge...Stash the Booty!! haha! The title totally fits with our release of some swashbuckling pirates this month, doesn't it?? Actually what she's challenged us to do is have a hidden component somewhere on our design!
I have to admit, this was a toughie for me....I was having a mental block with it but finally decided on pulling out my mini envelope template and creating a pocket to slip a little tag into! It's not super creative, but I'm not really good with the 'out of the box' type challenges!

Anyway, the image I used is a new Crissy Armstrong design for the Emmylou line of images and it's called Puppy Love! As you probably know, the Emmylou characters are made with my daughter Emileigh in mind. We used to call her Emmylou when she was little and Crissy drew these images after her. I LOVE this one especially!

I stamped Puppy Love on Neeneah cardstock using Memento ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. The papers I used are from my stash....and they are by Dream Street. The card base is Kraft cardstock and I also used some soft yellow cardstock and some Sparkle Bazzill Bling for matting. I sponged around the main image with Thatched Straw chalk ink and the layout is a Kimmie Original....feel free to borrow it...bahahaha!

I added some wide yellow grosgrain ribbon, added some Prima Caboodles flowers and threw on some pretty pearls. The hidden element is the little pocket I made and put in the corner and inside is the little tag with the sentiment, Happiness is a Warm Puppy! This sentiment, along with another one, both come with this image!

The second card I have for you today is another Emmylou stamp! This one is SO sweet! It's called Swingin' Emmylou and she's just SO precious! I used Kraft cardstock again for the base and the papers are by Three Bugs in a Rug, I think....again, large stash of papers. I stamped the image on Neenah with Memento ink and coloured her with coordinating Copics. I cut her out and embossed her with my Nesties and then sponged around the frame with blue chalk ink.

I stamped the sentiment, which comes with Swingin' Emmylou, across the bottom. I added some pink rick rack across the middle and pop dotted the main image! What a doll!!
So do you want to play along with our challenge this week?? Just put a hidden element on your card and then show it to us! Link it up in a comment over at the Challenge Blog (while you're there, check out the AMAZING creations brought to you by the Krafty Girls) . And if you upload your creation to an online gallery, like Splitcoast, be sure to include the keywords KKSC17 and KraftinKimmie!!
