Thanks Fairy Much!!

I got a chance to play with my new Fairy Lily stamps yesterday. I scooped them up from All That Scraps the minute I saw them on the website and I just adore them!

I paired the image up with the cute new Doodlebug papers...yes, I used them only a couple of days ago, so they were still laying on my craft table, just crying out to be used again!! hehee!

I stamped Lily and her little green friend on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black ink (are you sick of hearing me say that yet??) and coloured her in using my Copic markers. The colours I used are: E000, R20, E34, G20, YG03, R81, R83 and YR20.

The card base is Certainly Celery with Pixie Pink and Barely Banana for layering. Of course I pop dotted everything and added some pretty Prima Caboodles. I finished it off by outlining her fairy wings using my Clear Spica pen!!

Well, I'm off to work all day today at the library but then I've got tomorrow off from work as it's Canada Day!! Yippee for a day off!!

Have a super inky day!!

Just Splashing By...

It's a rather wet and rainy day here in Ontario today, so the only splashing I'll be doin', is in the puddles! But I wanted to share this super summery Lily card anyway!

I'm having fun playing with my new Pink Cat Studios stamps that I scooped up from All That Scraps a few weeks ago. This is another one from Lily at The Beach.

The card base is Kraft cardstock and the patterned paper that I used on the card and for colour inspiration is from a DCWV Summer Stack. I stamped Lily on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. I drew in the beach line with my Copic multiliner pen and created the beach by colouring with E31 over the entire area and then dotting with some darker browns and greys and then finishing it off with a little sparkle using my Sakura Stardust gel pen. I also made her swimming mask shiny with some crystal lacquer.

I made the bottom border using the waves border punch on some Brilliant Blue cardstock and also used So Saffron and Real Red for matting the focal layer. I added some assorted buttons and pop dotted everything, including the coordinating sentiment that also comes in the set.

For those that are interested, here are the Copics that I used: E11, R20, B24, Y21, R29, E21, BG10, E31, E35, E55 and W3.

Today's my day off from the library, but I'm heading over to the store to work on some top secret stuff...heehee. Have a stampin' great day!!

Fun in the Sun with Mermaid Lily!

I was finally able to get my inky little fingers on some Pink Cat Studio stamps featuring the lovely Lily! This one is from the new Lily at the Beach set that I picked up from All That Scraps!

I'm really enjoying having some time this week to join in some challenges just because! This layout is from this week's Our Creative Corner Challenge which is a sketch. Have I mentioned how much I love sketches??

I stamped Lily on Wausau bright white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her in with Copic markers that coordinate with the My Mind's Eye patterned paper from the Penny Lane line. The card base and accent cardstocks are both Bazzill Bling....I love my Bling! I used the Deckled Rectangle Nesties to cut out Lily and emboss her. I used my BG10 marker to colour the sky, making sure to only colour out to the embossed part.

I stamped the sentiment from the same set on So Saffron cardstock and used my 1 1/4" scalloped circle punch to punch it out. Then I attached some yellow glitter brads in all four corners. I pop dotted Lily and the sentiment, then added some wide So Saffron grosgrain ribbon! I finished it off by adding sparkle to the starfish and her tail with my Stardust Sakura gel pen.

In case anyone wants to know, here are the Copic markers that I used: E00, R20, E25, E31, Y32, BG10, BG11, BG72, BG18 and YG03.

You may be seeing alot more of Lily over the next little while. I'm lovin' these cute summer scenes! Have a super day!

Christmas Angel

Well, I'm feeling much better today! Thank you SO much for your prayers and hugz!! I truly appreciate your thoughts! It was a rough couple of days, especially since I couldn't call in sick because there were too many people off on holidays in my department. Oh well, I have a day off to recharge!!!

Here is a simple but elegant Christmas card! I have always loved this stamp set which was a Stampin' Up hostess set I believe. It was one of the first ones I ever got and it's a favourite for Christmas cards. I designed this one as an easy one to duplicate for orders (which by the way, I already have orders for 55 cards from 3 ladies at work....yikes!!).

I stamped the angel in Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink on watercolour paper. I coloured her skin with my Blush Blossom marker and then used my Aquapainter and inks to colour the rest of her.....Close to Cocoa for her hair, Elegant Eggplant for her dress, So Saffron to surround her and my Sahara Sand marker for shading her wings and the dove. I pop dotted her after matting on SS and EE cardstock and added some narrow organdy ribbon and then stamped the sentiment straight on the card base. Simple.....but lovely!

You may have noticed my attire in my Cartoon Kimmie picture there!! I don't generally dress like that everyday.....only on special occasions.... *giggle* I'm hooked on Dancin' with the Stars.....does anyone else love this show??? I have my early favourites and I must say I'm glad that Wayne is finally gone. Emileigh and I love to watch it together on Monday nights!! Anyone else watch it??

Don't forget about the contest going on to win some awesome Pink Cat Studio stamps!!! There are lots of challenges to choose from and you only have a few days left!!!

Sweet Sundae!!

Another busy day today at our house.....so I am posting today's post a little early!! I don't think I'll have time to do it in the morning, so instead, it's going up before my head hits the hay!!!

Here is another delicious design using some Pink Cat Studio stamps!!! For this one, I used Beate's Weekend Sketch #22 for the layout!! LOVE her sketches!! Those are my favourite challenges....sketches!! Wednesday is always Sketch Challenge day over at SCS, so be sure to go check it out if you have time. Hopefully I'll get a chance to join in later!

I stamped the yummy Sundae stamp on Whisper White cardstock using my handy dandy Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink. I pulled out my Loves Me designer papers again and used the colours from there on my sundae! I used my SU markers in Taken With Teal, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Sahara Sand to shade around the whipped cream, or as my nephew calls it, 'whippy doo'!! I matted it on Regal Rose and Close to Cocoa cardstock, used my ticket corner punch and added some pink rhinestones in the corners. The base is Close to Cocoa with that great dp and I used my CM cutting system to make the half circles. I added some pink grosgrain ribbon, used my word window punch for the sentiment and pop dotted the main image. I finished it off with some Stardust Stickles on the little heart on top!! Makes me hungry just lookin' at it!!!

So are you all busy workin' on some projects for the contest???? Hmmm?? I can't wait to see them!!

Pink Cat Studio is sponsoring this contest and providing the yummy prizes, so that's why I called it the Pink Cat Contest!! Get it?? Got it?? Good!!! Heehee!! A Christmas Wreath!!

I love this beautiful holiday wreath stamp by Pink Cat Studio! This one I picked up unmounted individually at my local scrapbook store a couple of weeks ago and thought I would play with it yesterday (in between working on baby shower invites).

The sketch challenge (#143) that was posted on SCS yesterday was a perfect one to use with this image. So I pulled out some Dasher dp by Basic Grey and used the plaid design along with the dark red one. I stamped the image on shimmery white cardstock in Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink (love that stuff)! And then I coloured in my image with my SU markers. You'll notice that I went back in an shaded some of the leaves darker to give the image a little more depth. Then I sponged all around the edge of the main image with River Rock ink and the patterned pieces I sponged with Walnut Stain distress ink by Ranger. I made little criss crosses on the two sides using my 1/16th hole punch and some linen thread. For a finishing touch I added some sparkle in the middle of the wreaths with my Stardust Sakura gel pen!!

Today is another yucky, rainy day in St. Thomas so I'm hoping to get a lot of stamping done!! Don't forget to enter your baby cards in this week's Kimmie's Challenge!!! There have been some super cute ones so far!!!

Speedy Card Challenge!!

Today's Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS was to do a speedy card!! They were aiming for 10 minutes or less, but 25 minutes is quick for me!! I usually spend about an hour on a card, so this was a HUGE challenge for moi!!

So I grabbed a Pink Cat Studio image that I already had stamped to begin with. Here's something I do....when I am using my unmounted or acrylic stamps, I usually stamp up a few of whatever image I'm working with. I find unmounteds and acrylics take up extra time, so while I've already got it all inked up, I figure I might as well stamp up a few!! Sooooooo, I had one all ready to go. Then I just grabbed some scrap patterned paper (off of my GIGANTIC pile 'o leftovers which takes up about a third of my table) and got buzy!!! (Love that spelling!)

I coloured my image with SU markers in colours that coordinated with my Tres Jolie patterned paper. I grabbed Certainly Celery for the base of the card and the Apricot Appeal for the matting and I used my ticket corner punch on each layer. Then I used the backside of the pp to mat the main image. I used my Clear Sakura Stardust gel pen on Kittie's flower and scarf and pop dotted the main image!! Then I picked out a couple of my new Prima Sprites and used a clear round rhinestone brad!! It really only took me about 20-25 minutes which is totally quick for me!!

I did try a couple of even quicker ones, and maybe I'll post them tomorrow!

Oh and I made a quick little trip over to Michael's and found some NEW $ stamps....but I'll show you them tomorrow!!!

Pink Cat Studio Card Class!!

I am very excited to announce that I have been asked by Dawn, the lovely owner of the local scrapbooking store, The Cat's Kaboose, to teach a card class this month!!! I'm very excited about it and Dawn has been a real joy to work with! I love making new friends, don't you???

So I had to design five cards for the class using ONLY the products that Dawn carries in the store. Okay, let's just say that this was quite a challenge for me! I am so used to creating cards for classes using only Stampin' Up products that it took me a while to get going. I did come up with a total of seven before settling on these five!!

The cards are made using stamps from Pink Cat Studio......yaaaaay!! I love them and NO, they are not all cat stamps!! That's just the name of the company!! They have many different lovely designs and you can see some of them here on my blog. Check out their website too for ALL the beautiful stamps they carry and be sure to tell them that Kimmie sent ya!! They have a great rewards program too!! Melissa is a joy to work with and she ships out SUPAH fast!! Anyhoo, I will share all five cards with you today!!

Of course, one of the cards HAD to have a cat image, because the store is called The Cat's Kaboose!! So the first one uses a solid cat image stamped with black Stazon on white cardstock and the card base is black Bazill cardstock. I doodled around the frame of the cat and matted it on black and pink cardstock and pop dotted it on a piece of Scarlett's Letter Basic Grey paper. Then I took a scrolly type stamp from Autumn Leaves and stamped it in the corner with white craft ink along with the Cool Cat sentiment by Pink Cat. To finish it off I added three pink Prima flowers with black brads!!

For this one I used the Heart Topiary stamp to make this sweet card. I took the colours from the Tres Jolie double sided patterned paper that I used for the card base. It makes a really nice finish to the card to have the inside be the solid colour side of the patterned paper. I used markers to colour in the image and used my Karen Foster Snap Stamps to make the 'love' sentiment. I used the coloured side of the pp to mat the main image and sponge around the edges of it with a Grapefruit Dew Drop, added some Prima flowers and green brads and also this cool stretchy ribbon....and I have NO idea where Dawn got it, but I love it!!

I thought I would do a nice summer-themed card using this Bikini stamp that I think is too cute!! The card base is white cardstock and I used this double-sided patterned paper (forget who makes it) for all the patterned pieces. The main matting piece is the purple side of the pp that I ran through my Cuttlebug, which I will be bringing to the class for their use. I used the Blooms and Dots embossing folder and I love how the white core of the paper peeks through in some of the embossing. The main image is stamped with black Stazon and coloured with a red marker, then matted on two Square Scalloped punches which I put together to make a rectangle, and then I dotted it with my white gel pen. The flowered piece is the opposite side of the pp and I wrapped some yummy red polka dotted ribbon around it and tied my tag to it, which is stamped with my larger sized Karen Foster Snap Stamps to say 'Sunny Days'.

This card is the most elegant of the bunch, I think. I stamped the Paisley Butterfly and shaded it in using markers again, then punched it out with my Mega Circle Punch and doodled around the edge of the circle. Then using Tres Jolie patterned paper, I punched out a Giga Scalloped circle punch. The card base is Bazill cardstock and the darker green matting is the patterned paper's solid side and then the smaller matting is the patterned side. I just LOVE this paper! I used the ticket corner punch and silver brads in the corners, added some ivory organdy ribbon and pop dotted the main image!!

And this last one is probably my favourite!! I just LOVE these dogs!! I hope Melissa designs some more soon!! I can't resist cute doggie stamps!! Anyway, I totally took my inspiration from this dee-lish-us patterned paper by Three Bugs in a Rug!! It's so sharp and clean!! The card base is black and I used two sides of the patterned paper for the main matting. I punched out the stars from another coordinating piece of pp using a small circle punch and then punched larger circles out of some black sugar coated paper!! I LOVE this stuff! It's a thick cardstock in a 12x12 size and it has sparkly glitter ALL over it!! It also comes in cotton candy pink and sparkling white!! I added some black gingham and pop dotted the doggie image which I coloured in with matching markers, shaded around the white areas and doodled the frame!!

So those are my five creations and I will be teaching them at The Cat's Kaboose on Tuesday, June 19th at 7pm!! The cost is only $15 for all 5 cards!! You must call the store to pre-register for the class and the number is 519-637-6222!! There are a limited number of seats, so call today to avoid disappointment!! Don'tcha wanna take my class????? Heehee!

Gone Fishin'!!

Well, I'm workin' my little butt off this week!! I have a stamp camp with 12 ladies out of town on Friday night and I have had to work extra time at the library, unexpectedly, so I'm desigining and preparing and packing in my 'spare time'. Hahaha!

So here is a scrapbook layout that I created for Virtual Scrapbook Weekend. It is a two page 12x12 layout using Basic Grey Oh Baby Boy patterned papers which were perfect for these pictures of my nephew. At this age he had a ball hangin' out and watching the fishies in Nana's aquarium, so I created the underwater scene at the bottom of the pages using some awesome new stamps by Pink Cat Studio. I stamped the images on Whisper White cardstock using black Stazon ink and coloured them in using my SU markers that match the colours in the patterned paper. Then I made a scalloped edge for the top of the scene using my slit punch. I made the title using both my Big Deal Alphabet and my Whimsical Alphabet, using both sizes of tag punches and popping the second half of the title up on pop dots. The journaling reads: Matthew is fascinated by Nana's fish!! He sits on Nana's lap and watches them swim. There are Angel Fish, Silver Dollars and Clown Loaches. He points to them and talks to them. Matthew loves fishin'!

I also have some super-exciting news!!!!! I have recently found an awesome stamp company called Rubber Stamping Fun and a couple of weeks ago they put out a call for people with stamping blogs and galleries to apply to be a Reviewer for their company. Well, I jumped right on that, didn't I???? I guess a TON of people applied and they chose only 145 people all over Canada, the US, England, Australia and more.....and guess what????? They picked little ole me!!! So the plan is that they will be sending us each a set of their brand new, unreleased stamps just to play around with them and review them on our blogs!! How great is that?? They want honest feedback about what we like or don't like about their stamps! I'm really thrilled to be in on this process with them and I'm honestly impressed that a company would do this and realizes how important it is to hear opinions about their products. So I have already chosen my set....it's so adorable and I don't have anything like this set in my arsenal yet...so I can't wait to get it!!! If you haven't seen their website before, go and check them out! They have some fantastic images in both wood-mounted and clear acrylic stamps!! And be sure to let them know Kimmie sent ya!!

Beate's Challenge!!

Well, I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day!! I certainly did! Emileigh made me a beautiful Mother's Day card using purples AND patterned paper(I've taught you well, young grasshopper!!) and she and my husband took me shopping to the stamp store!! I got two packages of Dew Drops, which I haven't tried before so that should be fun AND two new lovely stamps that I can't wait to play with and share!! Then we spent the afternoon at my Mom and Dad's house and had a wonderful barbecue with steak and potato salad and coleslaw and yummy cheesecake for dessert!!

The card I am posting today is one using a Wish-RAK image from my pal, Linda Palmer on SCS. She has sent me some wonderful Whipper Snapper images and you will be seeing several over the next few days!! I'm pretty sure this stamp is a Whipper Snapper too, but I'll have to check with Linda to be sure. Linda is da bomb-diggity...heehee! She knows I can't find these stamps ANYWHERE around here and she keeps sending them to me! Thanks bunches Linda!!! I just love these dogs and animals. Isn't that always the way though? You want to purchase the stamps and products that you can't get your hands on!! It's all about the hunt sometimes, isn't it!!?

AND this card was created using a sketch on Beate's blog! She is giving away some yummy blog candy to celebrate her hits and so she posted a sketch challenge! In order to be in the running for her candy, you had to create a card using her sketch and post a link on her blog. This is my entry and I hope you all like it!!

I think the image was stamped in black Stazon or some type of permanent ink because it didn't bleed or anything and I'm not sure what paper she used, but it has more of a matte finish to it. I coloured it in using my SU markers and shaded around the edges and grounded the image using Sahara Sand. Then I doodled around the frame and matted it on Barely Banana and Bordering Blue. The layer under that is Chocolate Chip and the card base is BB and it is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card. The patterned paper is some pretty Wild Asparagus paper backed on Close to Cocoa with some white dots made with my white gel pen. The ribbon is American Crafts polka dot and the tag was made with the Word Window Punch using the 'woof' from Pink Cat Studio. I pop dotted the main image and added some Prima flowers with white brads. I'm thrilled with the way it turned out and I just LOVE this panting, slobbering little doggie!! I just wanna give him a big hug!!

Geisha Kitty!!!

On Julee's blog this morning she asked if you had ever made a card that you were really excited about......well this is that card for me!!! I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I started but the finished product makes me happy!!!

I started out using one of my new Pink Cat Studio stamps, Geisha Kitty from Plate #2. Then I thought I would stay with the Asian theme and I grabbed my Far East stack by DCWV. I used that as my starting point and chose my SU markers from there. I also chose a fabulous sketch from SCS, SC105. I get so much inspiration from the sketch challenges.

I stamped the kitty in black Stazon ink on shimmery white paper and coloured in the kitty and her beautiful outfit using Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Baroque Burgundy (retired), Mellow Moss and So Saffron. Then I used my black Sakura Glaze pen to do the dots around the edge, matted it in Baroque Burgundy and Basic Black. Then I cut my Far East paper using my cutting system by Creative Memories. I also cut the Basic Black and So Saffron to mat the original circle. I used Baroque Burgundy for the card base and ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Stylized Flower folder. Then I sponged over the embossed flowers with BB ink. I used my square punch to cut a square out of So Saffron and cut it in half, then did three dots on each and placed them in the corners. I added some yummy Prima flowers and an antique copper brad, pop dotted the main image and THAT is my favourite card EVER!!! Well, at least until I make another cool one!! Heehee!! Hope you like her!!

Paisley Butterfly!!

Have you ever done an Inspiration Challenge on SCS before?? They post an image or a piece of artwork or a pretty pattern on something and ask you to create a card inspired by that image. Well, this week I joined in on my first Inspiration Challenge and it was fun!!

This week's challenge IC71, was called 'Unmentionables' because the Inspiration was a Fruit of the Loom ad which was a 'butterfly' made from different pairs of their new ladies underwear line!! Isn't that a hoot!! So funny!! Go here to see the pic!!

I LOVE butterflies so I had to find time to play with this challenge!! And I had the perfect butterfly stamp to use....a new Pink Cat Studio stamp!! So I stamped the Paisley Butterfly on shimmery white paper with black Stazon ink and then, with this yummy new ribbon from Michael's $ spot in mind, I chose my colours from there. I used my SU markers to colour in the image with Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink and Almost Amethyst. I punched it out using the Mega Circle Punch and then punched a layer of Sage Shadow with the Giga Scalloped Circle Punch to put it on. I sponged the edges of the scalloped piece and also around the SS square which I mounted on a square card. I stamped the matted SS piece with a matching Paisley stamp and mounted it on the card base, adding the pretty ribbon, an Almost Amethyst photo corner and some tiny Prima flower with Icicle Stickles in the centres. I stamped the 'Thinking of You' sentiment with a Michael's $ acrylic stamp in black and went over it with a Stardust pen and also added some Stardust to the butterfly image. Not sure how well you can see it in the photo, but it really shimmers in real life!!

Friends Fur-Ever!!!

It's been so much FUN playin' with my new Pink Cat stamps!! This one is Emileigh's favourite one so far!!

I started out with this awesome patterned paper from Paper Studio and chose my colours for the image from there. I stamped the Furry Friends image on shimmery white paper with black Stazon ink. Then I coloured in the image using my Stampin' Up markers in Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip. Then I doodled around the frame of the image and layered it on some Close to Cocoa cardstock.

Then I stamped the Friends Fur-ever sentiment straight onto the patterned paper in Chocolate Chip craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I added the three Prima flowers and an antique copper brad and pop dotted the main image. The body of the card is Close to Cocoa. Emileigh just loves this card of the pretty little puppies at the salon!! Notice they've gone shopping too!! Must have been over to the local Hobby Lobby, I'm sure!!! **giggle**

Today I also wanted to show you what an awesome Secret Pal I had over Easter!! My new pal Julee, from Poetic Artistry sent me this awesome reveal package!! (Wasn't a big surprise, as we had figured out who the other one was around about week 2!!) She sent me a lovely mini album to fill and decorate, some Rhona Farrar clear acrylic stamps, these awesome rhinestone flowers, 2 Sakura gel pens and see those awesome Amuse stamps?? I love them!! And she saw me mention on a blog once how much I NEEDED that skinny oval stamp to ground my Bella images, and she sent me one of my very own!!! She is the bestest!! Thanks Julee!!

Pink Cat Studio Debut!!!

I was so excited to receive my new rubbah this weekend and I couldn't wait to play with it!!! You ALL know what I'm talkin' about!!! The feel, the smell....aaahhh!! And these ones are so CUUUUUUUUUUTE!!! This is my first time playin' with the Pink Cat Studio stamps and they are just too much fun!!!

This one is called the Strolling Dog but she just looks like a Diva to me!! I stamped her with black Stazon ink on shimmery white paper and used my Sahara Sand and Pink Passion markers to colour and shade her. I doodled around the edge and added the "diva" with my Karen Foster Snap Stamps. Then I used my new Mega Scalloped Square Punch to make the frame with four punches put together to form the big one. Then I used my Stardust Sakura pen to make her all sparkly!! I used Pink Passion cardstock for the base which is a 4 1/4 X 4 1/4 square and the patterned paper is Doodlebug Design. I used my ticket corner punch on the pp and added faux brads with my black Glaze Sakura pen. Don'tch love the wide bright pink organdy ribbon with the big bow on the side?? I pop dotted the main image and added some Prima flowers and some pink rhinestones for some bling!!!

I have LOTS more Pink Cat Studio designs to share with ya, but I can't show them to you all at once!! You'll have to wait and see what comes next!!!

OH!!! And do you see my bee-utiful new watermark???!! Isn't it gorgeous?? Well, I WON it!! Yep!! On Beth's blog the other day!! I was so excited when she emailed me and told me to pick one out!! So she created this pretty watermark for me and now it will go on all my creations!! Thanks Beth!!!

And can you believe I'm almost at 10,000 visits??? Maybe some "Kimmie Kandy" will be in order.......so check back often!!! You never know when it will show up!!! **wink**
