Here Comes Peter Cottontail!!!

This morning I woke up to a yucky, dreary looking day outside. Finally the temperature was above freezing, but it was raining and bleak. Well poo! But I had the day off, YAY, and I knew exactly what I was going to do!!

Today a new scrapbook store in town opened up!!!! Hip, hip, hooray!! It was their grand opening and of course, you KNOW I went there first thing this morning!! I told Al all about it and his comment was, "How come you aren't camping outside in the parking lot until it opens??" Bahahahaaaaa! He's such a funny guy! He knows my addiction and loves me just the same!!

Well, it was already packed when I got there, how exciting!! The new store is such a BIG space with a large cropping area and lots of tools to use. There were beautiful Primas in all sizes (you know I can't resist them) and patterned paper galore!! There were the new Phoebe and Perhaps papers by Basic Grey and this is the first I have seen them in Canada, so I had to stock up on those!!! There were stamps and ink, brads and ribbon, rubons and adhesives and so much more!! It was heaven!! Aaahhhh, there's nothin' like a fully stocked scrapbook store in the mornin', wouldn't you agree??

I did a lovely make and take using the new Phoebe papers which I will definitely use on a page soon! Often times a make and take never gets used, don't you find? But this one is goin' on a page for sure! Anyway, it was a great way to start the weekend!!

So when I came home, I was feeling very creative and ready to play. I got out my Giga Scalloped Circle Punch, which I have had since before Christmas and hadn't used yet. **GASP** I know, right?? I was feeling like I wanted to rebel against the weather outside, so I decided to used my new Easter Bunny stamp by Inkadinkadoo. I made two cutsie Easter cards and I hope you like 'em!!

With the first one, I started out with a Certainly Celery base for my card and ran the front half through my Cuttlebug with the D'vine Swirls embossing folder. Then I used some Easter egg patterned paper out of the DCVW Spring Stack and sponged the edges. I added pink grosgrain ribbon and used the Happy Easter stamp from All Year Cheer I and added a couple of Prima flowers using an SU brad. I stamped the bunny on watercolour paper and used my watercolour brush and reinkers to colour the bunny and shade him. I sponged the edges and punched the scalloped circle out of Almost Amethyst, dotting the scallops with my white gel pen. I pop dotted the main image and....all done!

With the second card, I used Bashful Blue for the card base and the same patterned paper to mat. I used the ticket corner punch and gel pen. I did no sponging on this one for a cleaner look and also used Whisper White instead of watercolour paper to make it look crisper. I used Barely Banana for the scalloped piece and pop dotted it! I like this version too!!!

Let me know which one you like best!!!

Adorable cards...love them both. That bg paper is fantabulous!! If I had to choose I'd probably pick the first, but they are both wonderful cards!!!

I love your cards........both of them. To my eye the first one pops out at me.

These are such darling cards! I love them both, the colours, that adorable bunny, everything.

I guess, if I was forced to choose one, I'd go with the first, it just popped a little more.

now that is a HARD decision but I think I would pick the first one since I have recently fallen in love with the color green. and the blue scallop around the bunny makes it pop even more. thank you for sharing your talent with us!

Very cute cards Kim - I think maybe I like the first one too, the cuttlebuggin' is so cute! Everytime I see the results I want one . . . :)

Hi Kimmie - they are both just adorable! I would pick the first one though because the focal point is the bunny. On the second card, the focus is split between the Happy Easter and the bunny.

I've been looking for this stamp everywhere for about a week. I finally found it on ebay last night and bought it. And today you have it on your blog! Great minds think alike! :)

Can't choose just one. I really do like them both. At first I was thinking the one with the yellow behind Peter (the second one) but then I don't know the first one is great too. sorry I'm not much help today. They are both so cute and springy!!! Great work.

I like the 1st card better because of the cuttlebug you used.

Both are great cards, but the first card stands out in my mind's eye. It is lovely. I like the green Cuttlebug backgrond and the light blue ribbon bow, and the dash of the Easter egg paper is cute. It goes without saying that the bunny in the scalloped circle is darling.

You little bugger! I want that stamp sooooo bad! I recently had to buy it off the bay! I like the second card the bestest! But in all honesty, they both ROCK!

Those are too precious! That little bunny is adorable! I love the paper too. When my daughters and I went to HL last I my oldest picked out this sheet (they both get to pick a few sheets each time we go) and used it as soon as we got home. Thanks for posting these, you make me realize I need to get my booty moving with my Easter cards!
