Challenge 90 - Are You Distressed???

This week's Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge was perfect for me. I'm stressed. Haha! Who isn't, right? Well, I've got a lot on my plate right now, so taking it out on my card for this week was perfect!!!

Our hostess this week is the always enchanting, Melanie!! She has asked us to DISTRESS our creations.....be it inking them up, distressing the edges, makin' it grungy and dirty....just be sure to get rough with your stuff!! haha! We hope you can play along this week and if you use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, you could be the random winner of the stamp used on Melanie's card.....just WAIT 'til you SEE it!!!

I hadn't had a chance to play with Melanie yet (convenient isn't it, that I used Melanie for Melanie's challenge? Bahahahahaha!), from our newest Travel Girls release! Shame, shame! So I inked her up and started colouring with my Copics! It's a 6x6 card with dark brown for the base and red and green for matting. The papers I used are from the new Oxford collection by Basic Grey. The edges of every piece of patterned paper and the main layer were all inked up with Walnut Stain distress ink and then everything was roughed up with my distressing tool. You can also just open up a pair of sharp scissors and use them....it does the same thing and that's often what I do (when I can find my tool).

I added a little cluster of red flowers with leaves and tied some red twine around the bottom of the main layer. And lastly I stamped the sentiment that comes with Melanie and added it at the top!

You will notice the lovely sketch that I used today....in fact several of the Krafty Girls used it! That's because Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is thrilled and excited to be sponsoring the August Sketch For You To Try challenge!!! Hop on over to their blog today and you'll find your way to some MORE creations featuring our stamps! And you can join in the sketch challenge too!!

Hop on over to our challenge blog and check out all our inspiring cards from the Krafty Girls today....and join us.....and get distressed!!

Lots of fun this week! Happy kraftin'!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and Cute Card Thursday!

We are thrilled once again to be sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thursday sketch challenge! It's another fun sketch to play with that fits our images perfectly!!

For my card, I used the lovely new Butterflies Flutter By from one of our newest artists, Cheryl Alger. This little cutie was so fun to colour! And I sponged around the main image with brown ink to distress it a little bit.

The card base is a 6x6 in chocolate brown and I used red and a pale green for matting. The pretty patterned papers are from one of my new Lime Twists pads by MME. I found a cute polka dotted one that I used to paper piece her shirt!

I added some of my new ruffled ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique and a trio of Prima roses. Lastly I stamped the sentiment that comes with the image and cut it out with my scalloped oval punch.

Now be sure to join us for this fun sketch challenge and hop over to the CCT Challenge blog to check out some lovely inspiration! If you play along, you could win some new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps of your choice!!

Happy kraftin'!

Tallulahbelle Meets Cute Card Thursday!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring this week's Cute Card Thursday sketch challenge and it's a good one!!!

I used Miss Talullahbelle from our Fairy release last month.....I just love colouring up that corkscrew hair!! The patterened papers I used are from the Safari Girl 6x6 glitter pad by Best Creation Inc. So sweet and sparkly!

Talullahbelle was coloured up with Copic markers in coordinating colours and then cut out and embossed using one of my fun Nesties, then sponged around the frame with a lilac chalk ink. The 6x6 card base is done with Kraft and I used some Bazzill cardstocks to matt. The sentiment was stamped and then the cardstock snipped into a flag and all the Prima flowers were attached with orange brads. Finally I added a tiny bow at the bottom using a scrap of gingham ribbon and then I added some more sparkle to her wings and antennae using my Copic Spica pens!

Hop on over to the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog and check out more samples made by their fabulous DT and then join the sketch challenge! You could win some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps rubbah!!

Happy kraftin'!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and Pick Your Own Sketch!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring yet another fun challenge this week! Over at Cute Card Thursday you can pick your favourite sketch from them or from another challenge blog and play along!! And between our own challenge, yesterday's CPS Challenge and today's CCT Challenge, you've got THREE chances to win some KKStamps rubbah!!!

The sketch that I chose to use is a previous CCT sketch and I was away on holidays when it was up so I didn't get a chance to play along! It's a fun one too!

I used one of the new fairies on my card....this is Rosabelle! I used some lovely, springy Echo Park papers and coloured her up with my Copics to match. I used some retired Soft Sky stitched grosgrain ribbon, some Prima hydrangeas and lots of rhinestones! I also added some Stardust Stickles to the flowers and of course to Rosabelle's wings and antennae. Doesn't she look cute!? Lastly I used the sentiment that comes with her on a scalloped punch!

Now hop on over to the KKStamps Challenge Blog to check out what the other Krafty Girls did and then be sure to play along!!

Happy kraftin'!

P is for PINK!!!

This week Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring the ABC Challenge blog and our letter is P!!! Well, what is P for??? P is for PINK, especially for me!!! I LOVES me some pink!!!

I used the fun new Patsy stamp from our February release!! She reminded me of Frenchie from the movie Grease, so I coloured her up with PINK hair!! I wish I had enough nerve to die MY hair pink......well, maybe not!!

So I stamped Patsy and coloured her up with my Copics and then cut her out and embossed her with my new Nesties, then sponged around the frame. The patterned papers are from a We R Memorykeepers 6x6 pad and the card base is Basic Black with some turquoise matting. I added some sweet polka dot ribbon by Papertrey and made the bow using my Bow Easy template

The Prima hydrangeas matched perfectly so I attached them with glittery green brads. I added one of the THREE sentiments that comes with Patsy (yes, I said three) and lastly, I attached a clock charm with white Scrapper's Floss, so that Patsy could 'Rock Around the Clock'!!!

Hop on over to the ABC Challenge blog and join our fun challenge, and use some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps too, if you have some!!!

Happy kraftin'!

Cute Card Thursday....and Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is excited to be sponsoring this week's sketch over at Cute Card Thursday again!!! Their sketches just seem to always be perfect for our images! And they are SO fun to play with!

For my card, I used the lovely Gabrielle!! I always enjoy colouring this gal's hair!! Such a hoot!! I used my Basic Grey Olivia pad and thought they would be perfect colours for Gabby's fun dress!

The card base is a 6x6 Basic Black card and the pinky red matting is some cardstock from Bazzill, I think. I coloured Gabrielle up with my Copic markers (and I don't know why my camera always takes funky pictures of reds and pinks....but trust me her dress is red, not orangey red) and cut her out in a big circle using my CM cutting system. I sponged around the edges of the main layer with Tea Leaves chalk ink and matted her on black.

Don'tcha love that big ol' green flower?? I've had this yummy package of Prima flowers in different colours for ages and finally decided to open it! haha! I also attached some reddish Prima hydrangeas with black glitter brads. And I totally love that giant black rick rack! I got it (and several other colours) at Hobby Lobby! And lastly, I added one of the fun sentiments from the Tea Sentiments set!!

Now hop on over to the CCT Challenge Blog and join in the FUN!!!

Happy kraftin'!

A CPS Sketch Challenge!!

Hey, guess what?? Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is the sponsor this week over at the Card Positioning Systems blog!! And they have a really cool sketch this week and it certainly inspired me!

For my card I decided to play with the lovely Monique!! I hadn't inked her up yet and she was just beggin' to play!! I pulled out some new glittery papers from the new Mango Frost Stack from DCWV! Perfect colours for this sassy gal!

I stamped the image on Neenah cardstock and coloured her in with my Copics, 'o course! The coordinating cardstocks are Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Orchid Opulence! I even dusted off my sewing machine (and I do mean that literally) and sewed around the frame. I found some matching buttons for the side and used the sentiment that comes with Monique....When in doubt, DANCE!

Hop over the the KKStamps Challenge Blog to see more samples from the Krafty Girls using the CPS sketch and get details on how YOU could win!!

Spring Kit Final Reveal AND a Couple of Challenges!!

I think I've saved the most awesome image for last...........meet GABRIELLE!!! Do you LOVE the big hair???

Gabrielle is the final main image included in our Spring Tea Party Kit! You can see ALL five main images, all five accessory stamps and all 32 sentiments in a special post over at the challenge blog! And while you're there, check out this week's awesome challenge.....called Something Old!!

We've all got lots of nice, new, flashy stuff that we just bought last week at the local scrapbooking store...but what about all that old, unloved stuff we bought and haven't used yet? Your challenge is to use some old stuff on your designs this week! And if you're the random winner, you'll get your very own GABRIELLE!!

For my card's oldness...I used the deckled rectangle Nesties that I had to have and have only used once, I think. I also pulled out a bunch of Prima hydrangeas and a dollar store flower for the center. And the cardstock I used was from the leftover stash of cardstocks on my craft table.

I also created this card for this week's challenge over at Oh Alice!!! This week is an inspiration challenge featuring this image:

OH and hey!! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps just happens to be sponsoring this challenge...so there's another chance to win yourself some Tea Party goodies!!

Don't forget that the Spring Tea Party Kit is only available as a kit and only at the Kraftin' Kimmie Store! It's 10% off right now but will only be around for a limited time, so hop on over and check it out!!!

We're sponsoring over at Papertake Weekly and we were given this fabulous sketch to play with and I used Forget Me Not Fairy and some new Kaisercraft papers!

Unfortunately, I'm running out the door to work...again....so I can't add all the details right now. I'll try to come back later with Copic colours etc.

Have a Krafty Day!!

Pink Elephant Meets Kraftin' Kimmie!

Good morning, stampers!! Wow, what a busy weekend! It's Monday again...time for work! Blech! Well, maybe this will start your week off well!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is sponsoring this week's challenge over at The Pink Elephant blog! The theme this week is Birthday and you should see the fabulous designs that their design team made! Wow! And I'll be posting the Krafty Girls creations over at the KKS Challenge Blog in a bit. Fantastic!

Of course, our new Cindy and Mindy image called Party Time is perfect for this challenge! So I stamped them on Neenah with Memento ink and coloured them in with Copic markers. I coordinated the colours with this fun new Pink Paislee paper. The colours I used are: E00, R20, R22, R29, E50, E53, BG11, BG13, E13, E25, G20, G99 and RV11. After I coloured it, I covered the balloons in crystal lacquer and then sprinkled glitter all over them and set it aside to dry.

The card base is a deep red Bazzill cardstock and the size is 5 1/4 square. I also used Sparkle Bazzill Bling cardstock for layering underneath the patterned paper and used my favourite MS border punch across the bottom. I added some chocolate satin ribbon, tied it in a bow and added a pink button with linen thread. I pop dotted the main layer and the sentiment, which happens to be the bonus sentiment stamp that comes with the Party Time stamp and finally added a couple of green rhinestones in the corner!

I also created this card for the Copics class that I'm teaching over at Scrappin' Great Deals later on this month. The class is almost full, so be sure to give Sheila a call at the store if you want to sign up for one of the last spots!!

Now if you decide to join in this week's Pink Elephant Challenge, you'll be in the rand

om draw to win THREE Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps of your choice!! So get stampin'!!

Cute Card Thursday Meets Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!!

Well, I told you that you might get to see some of the new release images soon! Heehee! I can't wait to show them to you....and hear what you think of them!! They are ALL out of this world!!!

I'll copy here what I posted on the KKS Challenge Blog about the new release:

First off, have you ever heard the word Steampunk??? Well, if you have, you've never seen any Steampunk stamps!!! And that's what we're here for!! Annie Rodrigue has been having fun with this theme and these unique images are gonna rock your socks!! Think Victorian England, think gadgets and mechanics, think goggles, time travel and airships!! Have any of you seen the new Sherlock Holmes movie with my boyfriend, Robert Downey Jr. yet?? He's so handsome...... and buff...... and totally charming................hehem! I digress....well, THAT's what this new release is all about!! You're gonna love it!!

Secondly, Crissy Armstrong has TOTALLY outdone herself! She has gone in a totally new direction and her new line of fairies are so fantastical and flowy! When I look at these images and see the gorgeous creations that the design team has made using them, I feel like I'm in a meadow in springtime with a little bit of magic all around! They are absolutely incredible!!

And Jean Grant has the most adorable duo of Cindy and Mindy in some incredible fun situations!! They'll make you feel like dancin'.....or havin' a party......or shoutin' out loud......or goin' for a ride!!! Just wait until you see Cindy and her teddy bear Mindy, getting into some trouble this month!!

Now, I was serious about everything....including that Robert Downey Jr. is my boyfriend....has been since I was a teenager and I saw the movie 'Chances Are'....do you know that one?? Yep...it may be only in my head that he's my hunka hunka....but that's okay!!

Today's card is made for this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge!!! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is the sponsor for this week's challenge and the theme is 'NEW'! Well, all of our new stamps fit that category perfectly!!! If you want to join the challenge, you could win some new KKStamps rubbah!!!

So my card features one of the images from our Steampunk line!!! This saucy gal is Lavinia!! (Don't you love the names I choose??? *giggle*) She's a Victorian lady in a corset and bustle....also with goggles and gloves! I think she's a time travelling adventurer myself!

I chose these scrumptious Eva papers by Basic Grey and some purple and olive cardstocks. I stamped Lavinia on Neenah white cardstock using Memento Ink and coloured her in with my Copic markers. Here are the colours I used: E000, E00, R20, RV91, RV93, RV95, E42, E43, E44, E47, YG93, YG99, BV23, BV29 and C00.

I sponged all around Lavinia using an olive chalk ink and pop dotted her. I added some satin ribbon, a button with linen thread and some pearls. Then I used one of the amazing sentiments from the Steampunk Sentiments set (created by the oh-so-talented Jeanne Streiff), that were made specifically to go with this line of funky images!!!

So go and hop on over to the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog and check out what all those talented gals have done! OH and several of the Krafty Girls have joined in this challenge and they've ALL used new images!!! GO! RUN!!!!

Cute Card Thursday!!!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps is proud to be this week's sponsor for the Cute Card Thursday challenge!! Woohoo!!

I have to admit that this was a toughie for me. The challenge this week is Primary Colours....which I'm not known to use very often. So I dug through my (copious amounts of) patterned paper and found this wonderful Cosmo Cricket paper which has all those colours in it!

I stamped Posy on Neenah white cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured her with my Copic markers. The colours I used are: E000, E00, R27, R29, E30, E31, G82, YG03, BG000, BG72, Y23 and Y26.

The cardstocks are Stampin' UP and Bazzill and the patterned papers are from the Early Bird line. I added some stitched grosgrain ribbon and attached some Prima flowers with red buttons and linen thread. I also attached a tag which I cut out with my Nesties and the sentiment is from the Kimmie's Everyday Sentiments set!

A couple of the Krafty Girls have played along with the challenge too! Mom used Oliver and Elaine used Francesca!!

Be sure to hop over to the Cute Card Thursday blog and check out what their DT gals have made and then be sure to join in the challenge! You could be the random winner of some Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps!!
