It's New Year's Eve!!!!

Sorry I didn't get a chance to post over the weekend, but it was another busy one!! I worked until late on Friday night, then all day on Saturday and Emileigh had a friend sleep over Saturday night. Then on Sunday we all went to London to the stores to exchange a few things and do a little shopping. It was very busy as I expected during Boxing Week. I did get a chance to use a couple of 50% off coupons at Michael's though, so that was nice. It's great to drag along........I mean, have my loving family along.......to use the extra coupons for me!! Heehee!

This card was made a couple of weeks ago when I got my new Magnolias. I wanted to use the tree along with one of my new Tildas, so I used Tilda in the Wind.....at least that's what I call her! I stamped Tilda first and then stamped her again on a spare piece of copy paper. I cut that out and then masked her while stamping the tree overtop. I pulled out a piece of Daisy D's paper and used the colours from that to colour her in with some Prismacolour pencils and OMSpirits. I doodled a wavy frame, shaded around Tilda and the tree with my Sahara Sand marker, added some Stickles on her wings, some Prima flowers with brads in the corners and also a swirly clip with ribbon on the top.

I guess it's time to change my banner back to the plain old boring one that comes with the blog. I'm just 'digitally challenged' when it comes to making stuff like that. I gave the digital scrapbooking a try once and it's just no use. I love all the cool banners that other people have on their blogs and I'd love to make a pretty one of my own to show my personality, but I'm useless. If anyone can do that sort of stuff and would like to give me a little tutorial on how to make an easy one, I'd be really super thankful!! *batting eyelashes here*

Well, this is my last post for this year!! 2007 has brought a lot of new friends and new opportunities for me and I am ever so grateful!! I can't wait to find out what this year has in store!! Have a safe but fun time tonight, whether you go out dancin' or stay home and play games and watch movies (which is what we'll probably do)!! Best wishes to you for a happy and healthy 2008 and may it be filled with lots of stampin' creativity!!!! MWAH!!!! xoxoxox

Two Tildas!!

Well, it's back to work for me today, 1-8:30pm. Then all day tomorrow, on a Saturday....how rude!! So I'm going to grab me a cuppa coffee and spend an hour or two stampin' this morning.

I'm having a great time with my new Magnolia stamps and also the new releases of My Favorite Things stamps.....BUT I can't show you those just yet! There will be a new release party in the MFT forum over at Splitcoaststampers on January 9th!! So be sure to mark that evening on your calendar!!

Today's cards are quick and simple and I used the same Tilda stamp and the same Basic Grey patterned paper on both of them!! I stamped Shy Tilda in Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink on Fabriano watercolour paper and coloured her in using my SU markers. I used darker colours on the one with the Lovely Lilac base and I used lighter colours on the Regal Rose based card. I added some sparkle on the wings with my Stardust Sakura gel pen and some matching Primas and then the sentiment in a coordinating Word Window Punch from MFT.

Okay, off to play!! Have a super Friday!!

Friendship is our Special-Tea!!

Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. We had a fabulous time over the last few days. We had friends stop by on Christmas Eve and we also got our new 55 inch TV and set it up! It's amazing, by the way!! Then we had a quiet day on Christmas Day, just the three of us! And yesterday my parents came up for the day and we had presents, played games, ate lots and it was fun!!

I hope that Santa Claus was good to you and that you got at least a few stampin' goodies to play with!!! I got some new Magnolia stamps, some Copic markers and a set of the Oval Nestabilities!! Woohoo!! I can't wait to get playin' with them all!! I've already practiced a little bit with the markers!! Heehee!

Here is a card that I made last weekend for the Featured Stamper challenge over at Splitcoaststampers!! Guess who the Featured Stamper was??? It was Crissy Armstrong who is the most talented lady that designs the High Hopes stamps!!! So of course I HAD to join in on this challenge!! The idea is to choose one of the cards from her gallery and use it as inspiration for a card! So I chose to use her card here and this is what I created!!

I used the new Trish the Tea Angel stamp and I just think she is too adorable!!! I coloured her in using my SU markers, pulling the colours from the Scrapbook Walls patterned paper that I used. I followed the same basic layout that Crissy used on her card too. I stamped the Tea Border stamp on a separate piece of paper, coloured a teapot and a couple of teacups and then cut them out. I clustered them in the corner of the main image and pop dotted the teapot. I also stamped the sentiment directly on the dp, added some Prima flowers with a pearlized brad and added some sparkle to her wings and the heart shaped steam using my Stardust Sakura gel pen! Hope you like her!!

Now I'd LOVE to hear what everyone found in their stockings and under the Christmas tree....so please share!!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

One last post before the man in red shows up!!! Thank you all so much for your friendship and interest over the past year or so! I really can't tell you what it means to me! Best wishes for a joyful Christmas shared with family and friends! And I hope you find some stampin' good treats in your stockings!!!

Happy Holidays!!!

Altered Canvas Projects....the end!!!

These are the last of the altered canvas projects that I was asked to do for some coworkers! Whew!! I finished them last week and am I ever glad they are done!

They don't take much explaining really. I took an 8x10 canvas from the dollar store, chose some papers that matched the colours in the photo, or chose my own colour combo if it was a black and white photo. Then I painted the canvas with acrylic paints and arranged the art piece like I would a scrapbook page, complete with designer papers, flowers, embellishments etc. Someone asked before if the pictures are removable....no they are not. I used super sticky double sided tape to adhere everything down, especially directly to the canvas, as it is painted.

The ladies that requested them were just thrilled with the outcome, which makes me very happy. I hope the recipients of these gifts are just as pleased.

Well, I have already made a couple of cards this morning and done a little cleaning. I made pancakes for brunch and am working on some laundry. And while Emileigh has gone skating with her friends, I think I'll go and wrap some of her Christmas presents!! Have a wonderful day!!!

Mamma Mia Meltdown!!!

Last night was fantastic!!! However, it did NOT start out that way!! I can-NOT believe my stupidity.....and I'm completely embarassed about the whole darn thing but I will share this with you, my best friends, as a cautionary tale! You probably won't believe that someone could be such an idiot.....but I digress....

Yesterday I picked Emileigh up from school and we were excited and talking about the show we were going to be seeing in a few hours. So I went to pull out the tickets, which I had hidden the minute they came in the mail two months ago, without looking at them. I never even took them out of the envelope.....I just stuffed them in the drawer so that Emileigh wouldn't find them!! (I'm sure you can see where this is headed!) So I open them up and I'm showing them to Emileigh and she says....'Why do they say Tuesday??'.....(it's Thursday)....and you can just imagine my complete and total meltdown at this point. It was not a pretty sight. We were supposed to be going with friends out to dinner and then to this show....and our tickets were for two days ago!! I felt just sick!! We had missed the show!

So my wonderful husband, who had been sleeping (he works nights) but had woken up because of the awful caterwauling he heard coming from my stamping room, got right on the horn to the John Labatt Centre and they told us that it had happened to several others as well over the last few days. That made me feel a little better, because I KNOW I had booked them for Thursday, so that we could go with our friends. Anyhoo, Brian in the box office (I LOVE him), told us to come with our old tickets right when the doors open and if there were seats available, they would probably be able to get us in.

So we ate at home, left super early, drove through horrendous downtown London Christmas traffic, found a parking garage, waiting until the box office opened, hoping and praying that we could get in (me trying to hold back tears the whole time, while telling my pathetic tale about my own stupidity), and thank the good Lord, we got in!!! And not only did we get in, we got better seats than we originally had!! It was wonderful, the show was fabulous and Emileigh and I had an absolutely amazing time!!! So the moral of the story is ........ open the stinkin' envelope and check your tickets!!!!!! Don't be a moron and assume that you got what you ordered!!!!!!!! *sigh*

Anyhoo, on to the card!! I made this one a couple of days ago using Milton's Fresh Pine by High Hopes Rubber Stamps!! I knew that I wanted to use some stripey paper with a few different colours in it to use on this image and his awesome flannel shirt! I think this paper is from Scrapbook Walls. I stamped the upper portion of the card base using my cluster of snowflakes stamp and then added the dp on the bottom half and a strip of Pumpkin Pie attached with eyelets. Milton was coloured in using my SU markers and then I added some Stardust Stickles on the freshly fallen snow and his hat. For the sentiment layer I used several circle punches and the scalloped circle punch and I used the Wonderful Wishes set by Verve Visual.

Well I have this morning off and then I work this afternoon and this evening and then all day Saturday....blech. BUT then I have five days off over the Christmas holidays. I will still be posting here on Kraftin' Kimmie's Korner throughout the holidays but if you don't get a chance to stop in, may I take this opportunity to wish all my cyber friends a joyful Christmas season filled with peace and love!! And may you find lots of stampin' treats beneath your tree!! *wink*

You Better Watch Out........

Sorry I'm late this morning, but I decided to run out to Walmart after dropping Emileigh off at school. I had a few things to get....fake sugar (for my coffee), hair dye (for my greys) and a few last things for Emileigh. I got her some Betty Boop pyjama bottoms.....she practically lives in the things....and some makeup for her stocking. I was there about 8:30am, so it wasn't busy at all. Love that!!

Here is another one of my Magnolia creations and I just HAD to play with this Santa stamp to make a Christmas card right away!!! I pulled out my Figgy Pudding paper....which I'm ashamed to say has not been played with nearly enough this season, and got busy. I coloured him in with Prismacolour pencils and OMSpirits and I used the journal tip of my Sahara Sand marker to highlight any of the white areas like his beard and moustache. I used my Aquapainter to ground him on Sahara Sand and sponged around the edges using Old Olive and a cosmetic sponge. The hardware is from We R Memorykeepers and I stamped the tiny Winter Wonderland sentiment from my Verve Visual Winter Wonder set and pop dotted Santa!!

This evening is going to be a lot of fun!! Emileigh and I have a date! It was supposed to be a surprise but she figured it out, the little turkey!! We are going to the John Labatt Centre in London to see Mamma Mia!! We saw it in Toronto several years ago when she was about 9 years old, but we just LOVE musicals and since it is so close, we are going tonight! It is part of her Christmas present!!

Have a great day!!!

May All Your Wishes Come True!!

It's getting so close to Christmas.....I'm so excited, aren't you??? I may be just as thrilled about having a few days off, as I am about it actually being Christmas!! I've got five whole days off....in a row!!! Yippee!!

Last night after work, I was able to work on a couple of things in my craft room. First, this card! The sentiment is just so perfect for this hopeful little skunk, don't you think?? He is from High Hopes Rubber Stamps and his name is Hopeful Tink. I coloured him in using my Prismacolour pencils and OMSpirits. The designer paper I used is Dashing by Stampin' Up and I added some scalloped corners and SU eyelets. The sentiment layer is popped up and I used stamps from the Verve Visual stamp set, Wonderful Wishes to make it. I stamped the square border, coloured it in using my Old Olive marker, trimmed it, turned it on it's end and stamped the sentiment, May All Your Wishes Come True, in the center. Perfect for the little cutie pie!

Well, I don't work until 5pm tonight, so I plan on getting a few more things done today. I have two more of the altered canvases to do and of course, there are always new stamps to play with! I wonder what will come in the mail today!!!

Have a wonderful day.....only 6 more sleeps until Christmas!!!

Twinkle Brightly Shining Star!!

I've been having SO much fun with my Tildas and Edwins!!! Here is Tilda with her Lantern again!! I wanted to use a sentiment that had something to do with the lantern or light or stars!! So I pulled out my new Verve Visual stamps called Starlight Starbright and they were perfect!!

I pulled out some Chatterbox plaid paper and used the colours from it and got busy colouring my Tilda with my SU markers. I matted her on Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip. Now I often like to use at least two coordinating designer papers on a card, but I didn't have one to go with the plaid, so I made my own using the little stars in the Starlight Starbright set. Then I added some pewter star brads.

Oh and I forgot to mention that the sketch is from Julee's Mojo challenge from last week ...... yes, I'm behind. So what's you're point?? heehee Also distressing was the JBWW challenge from Jeanne and Sherry. I often distress using browns but this time I wanted to do something different....still distressing but using a lighter colour, so I used Certainly Celery and a cosmetic sponge.

The sentiment layer is made using the oval star background stamp from the VV set and I stamped the sentiment in black overtop and punched out with my large oval punch. I pop dotted everything and voila!!! Isn't she cute????

Tildas and Edwins are here....oh my!!!!

Christmas is coming a little early at my house this year!! And I can't stop grinning....I really can't!! The people in my life just don't get it when I get so excited about stamps!! They accept it, but they don't get it!! Now YOU people, you understand me!! There's just something about a brand new stamp....especially one that you have been WAITING for!!!

Well, on Friday when I heard from my friend Phebe that her order for new Magnolia stamps had arrived..........well, let's just say that BOTH of us were a TAD excited!! More than a tad really, but I don't want to sound like a crazed stamper....which you all probably have guessed about me by now. Oh well!! But I know most of you can relate!!

These stamps are just too adorable for words and this time she ordered some of the awesome additional stamps as well, so I....I mean WE, can make scenes on our cards. She has the Windmill, the House, the Winter Tree and the Fence!! And there are SO many adorable Tildas and Edwins to play with too!!

For today's card I stamped up the Windmill on Fabriano watercolour paper and used my Prismacolour pencils and odourless mineral spirits to colour it. I then stamped it a second time, coloured it and cut out the moving windmill arms and paper pieced them by attaching them to the first windmill using a Prima brad. So it rotates....how cool is that?? The designer paper is by Fancy Pants and obviously I drew all the colours from there. The card base is a Close to Cocoa square and I matted the Windmill on Not Quite Navy cardstock. I also stamped Tilda with the Lantern on watercolour paper and coloured her as well and then cut her out. I added some Stardust Stickles on her wings and hat pompoms. I used the Hi There sentiment by My Favorite Things and added some flowers, button and ric rac, all by Prima. I'm so thrilled with the way this card scene turned out!! It's almost like playing with paper dolls!!

SO my friend Phebe has a whole lot of new Magnolia Stamps in the store but in limited quantities. She is happy to take email or phone orders, so feel free to email me if you would like her contact info.

It's Beginning to Look a LOT Like Christmas!!!

Well, it's been snowing steadily since about 3am this morning.....and it's STILL snowing!! I don't know how much we've gotten, but it's a LOT. Al has been shoveling out the driveway, running the cars to get the ice off of them, and digging out an area for poor little Daisy-doodle to go out in the backyard!! And the snow keeps on coming!!

Last night was the Christmas dinner for the Library staff and spouses and I'm certainly glad it was last night and not tonight!! We got all gussied up and went out for a fancy dinner!! We don't do that very often, so it was fun! The evening was very nice and we had a great time!! Here is a quick pic of Al and I that Emileigh took of us at home. Aren't we cute??

Oh and here is a card I made this morning using the little Elf Tilda from Magnolia!! The patterned papers I used were from SEI and I paper pieced her little dress. I used my SU markers to colour her in and added Stardust Stickles on her wings and Liquid Applique mixed with glitter on her hat!! I pulled out some of my discontinued wide organdy ribbon by SU and also added the sentiment using some Verve Visual stamps!! LOVE all their little sentiments!!

Hey listen.....you might want to check back here tomorrow for some exciting news about Magnolia stamps!!! *heeheehee* I'm so excited I'm just bouncin' in my chair telling you about it.....well, actually teasing you about it!!! See you tomorrow!!! *wink*

The Lady in Red!!!!!!

Friday night was Emileigh's semi-formal at the high school. She looked so lovely and so grown up........TOO grown up!! I'm so proud of the young lady she's become....but it's also bittersweet because I long for the days when she would cuddle up on my lap, in her Minnie Mouse pyjamas and pigtails. Time goes so quickly. But I wanted to share a picture of the big night!!

Isn't she beeee-utiful!!? This is Emileigh with her friend Temma........and her date, Brad!! *insert giant eye roll here*. She is almost sixteen....I guess it had to happen eventually!!!

Good grief!!! We received a HUGE dump of snow overnight and it is still snowing!!! What a perfect day to stay inside and stamp, I say!!! *heehee* Like I need an excuse!!Well, I've got lots to stamp today, so enjoy your Sunday!! I know I will!!!

Make a Wish!!!

I've gotta be quick again today!! Working 9 to 5..........what a way to make a livin'!! Aaaghhh!! Now I'll be singin' that all day!!! But I'm excited because my honey comes home tonight!! For good!! Yaaaaaaaaay!!! I have the weekend off, so we'll be finishing up our shopping, we've got my work Christmas party on Saturday night.....ooooo what fun!!! Oh and tonight Emileigh is going to the semi-formal at the high school!! I'll be sure to take some pics to share with you!!!

Anyway, today's card is a quick little birthday number using the Icing on the Cake set by My Favorite Things!! It's pretty self explanatory so I won't go into the boring details!! It's pretty cute and I happened to have both red and orange Stickles to sparkle up the little cherries on top!!

Have a wonderful weekend and try to take some time out for yourself in all the hustle and bustle!!!

MOJO 14 - Young Shepherd

It seems like so long since I participated in one of Julee's Mojo Monday sketch challenges, but here is one for last week's!

I used Young Shepherd by High Hopes Rubber Stamps and I stamped him in Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink on Fabriano watercolour paper and coloured him in using my SU markers. I took the colours from this gorgeous shiny paper by Sandylion which has such dark rich colours and some sparkles running through it. The card base is Baroque Burgundy with a layer of Not Quite Navy. I watercoloured some grass for him to stand on with his cute little lamb and then I stamped a star in So Saffron using one of the stamps in the Winter Wonder set by Verve Visual.

I have a bag full of the retired wide organdy ribbon by Stampin' Up so I don't use it that often, because I don't wanna run out!! But I pulled out some of the burgundy ribbon and added some silver cord to tie around the bottom. I pierced each scallop on the sentiment layer, stamped the border circle from Wonderful Wishes on white and stamped the Peace sentiment in the middle. I coloured in the border with my BB marker, made everything sparkle a little with my Sakura Stardust gel pen and pop dotted the sentiment layer!!

Busy, busy again today. I'm going to try to get a few things stamped this morning before I go to work again at 1pm. Have a great day!!!

To My ValenSwine!!! *snicker*

Sorry this is quick this morning, but I'm off on the run again!!!

My Project of the Month of High Hopes is up on the site this morning along with another one by Crissy Armstrong!!! Go and check out the awesome new images!! Just put HOTP in the search box, which stands for Hot Off the Press!!!!

Sydney and Angelynn

You know I've been busy working on some Christmas gifts for the ladies at work. Well, I thought I would show you the first two projects. These are for my friend Barb for her neices, Sydney and Angelynn.

For Sydney's we used a 5x7 black and white photo and I painted the 8x10 artist's canvas in an ivory acrylic paint. The designer papers I used were from Three Bugs in a Rug and I added some lilac ribbon, a heart charm with silver cord and Prima Flowers and brads. I wanted to go with the sentiment, Follow Your Dreams, as it is inspirational and she is now eleven years old.

For Angelynn's we used two 4x6 black and white photos and I painted the canvas in a light lilac and dry brushed some white across it. The designer papers I used were from Daisy D's I think and the metal hardware is from We R Memorykeepers. I added some Michael's ribbon, Prima flowers and brads and I dotted some doodles with my white gel pen. The Little Angel sentiment was just perfect for her.

I'm always nervous when people ask me to do stuff like this because I'm afraid they might not like what I did or that it isn't quite what they imagined. But Barb was super pleased when I brought them both in to her last week and she showed everyone at work. Whew!! What a relief......the only bad thing is that now several other people have asked if I have time to do one for them. Good thing I've learned how to say no!!! hahaha!!!

Nadabella..........and she's the Tackiest Bella-da-Ball!!!

I woke up this morning to a bunch of emails from SCS of comments on my Tackybella card, which I posted yesterday. So I go to read them and they are all congratulating me....for winning??? Winning what?....I ask myself and then I go to the Bella forum and find out that I won that challenge with my Bella in Lights card!! Heehee...how exciting!! Not sure what I won, but heck, I don't care!! Anything Emma-Bella wants to send me is JUST fine!!

I made another card for one other Bella challenge, which was to use a stamp by Stampingbella that is NOT a Bella...get it, Nadabella???!! I was glad to participate in this challenge because I hadn't even gotten these dudes inky yet!!

I used Group Hug on this card and used some new Heidi Grace patterned papers and then used this awesome sketch by Jen del Muro. I used my SU markers to colour them in, then added some Frosted Lace Stickles on the snowmen. I added some sugarcoated snowflakes, some Bellas Baubles in the corners, some large pewter SU eyelets and lotsa ribbon! I also used a sentiment by Verve Visual, along with one of the little snowflakes from one of their newest sets too. Oh and I added a metal snowflake charm that I got from a set of wine charms I found at a yard sale!! Perfect touch!!

Well, it's going to be another busy week, working every day and working on some more altered items for Christmas gifts....not mine though, for girls at work!! Maybe I'll share some of them tomorrow!! Toodles!!

Tackybella!!!

Okay.....I'm okay now. I worked all day yesterday and didn't have TOO many silly patrons...thank goodness. After work I decided to brave the stores alone and got a little bit of Christmas shopping done. I took advantage of the fact that Al wasn't there and bought ALL of his presents!! So he's done. He called me last night from Calgary and told me all about his visit with his uncle George. His uncle is dying of cancer and doesn't have more than 6 months left, so Al made the two hour trip yesterday to spend the day with him. It's been about 30 years since they have seen each other, but he was so happy to have Al there. They went out for coffee and hung out with some of George's friends from the residence. They spent the day chatting and catching up and one of the waitresses took some pictures of them together for them. Sounds like they had a nice time together.

Last night after I got home, I decided to take a time out from my papercraft orders and just stamp for fun. There was a Bella Ball over at SCS the other night and they posted a bunch of cool challenges, so I decided to do one of them. The challenge was to create a Bella that had over the top embellishments and bling! I figured I could handle THAT!! So I stamped Elizabella and paperpieced her dress using this great black, white and pink dp by Doodlebug Designs. I used my skinny oval stamp by Amuse to make her somewhere to stand and used lots of yummy ribbon and silver cord. I had this package of tons of tiny rhinestones from the dollar store and it took me for-EVER to glue all of them down, but I think it looks awesome and makes her look like she is up in the marquee of Broadway......Bella up in lights!!! So I pop dotted her, added Stardust Stickles to both of her bags and then added some awesome velvet flowers. The sentiment I stamped inside the round frame by Verve Visual and then added MORE rhinestones in each of the scallops on the SU punch! I think she's rather gaudy and tacky, don't you????

Why don't you take some time out of your busy holiday schedule and stamp something just for fun!!!??

SNAP!!!!

Well, I'm sad today. Al called yesterday afternoon and there had been a change of plans. After his company asked him to get ready to go home, to pack up his stuff and fly home.....they asked him to stay another week in Calgary. So he did NOT come home last night. Poo.

AND I have to work all day today. So I'm crabby and I have to work instead of stamp. That's just wrong. So I'd better not have any patrons coming up to the desk today and saying stupid things like, 'I was wondering if you have a book.' or asking me to find an obscure book, spending hours combing all the Ontario library catalogues, finding it ...... and then saying that they don't want it....they just wanted to know if it was available.

'Cause I'll snap I tell ya....snap!!! Hahaha!!

Have a wonderful Saturday. I'll try to post some new stuff for ya tonight!!

I'll Be Your Umbrella!!

Well, I just talked to my honey in Calgary and it looks like he's coming home tonight!! Yaaaay!!! It's only been a week that he's been gone this time, but it's getting close to Christmas and it just doesn't seem the same when he's not here. And he's ready to come home and stay home and quit flying back and forth too!! Unfortunately I have to work tonight and all day tomorrow.....argh.

Here is a square card that I made using the new Rain or Shine stamp set from My Favorite Things. I pulled out the patterned papers from Flowers for You by SU and I thought these designs were perfect for a rainy spring day (I'm looking ahead to spring....can you tell?). So I used my SU markers to colour the image in and stamped some of the raindrops in Tempting Turquoise and also paper pieced her cutie-pie raincoat. I added some rick rack and Prima flowers and brads and then pop dotted the main image. I Cuttlebugged the background cardstock and added those little scalloped corners using my square scalloped Marvy punch!!

Don't forget, you can still use the 20% off coupon code at My Favorite Things until tomorrow!! The code is SCS1207!!

Well, since Al is coming home, I think we're going to be finishing up our Christmas shopping....that will be a relief!! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!

Designer Snowflake!!!

Wow!! What an evening!! Last night was the December Release Party on SCS for the new My Favorite Things stamps and let's just say my head is still spinning!! I got to see a lot of you over there, so you know what I'm talking about!!

We all met in the MFT forum at 9pm EST and had a blast!! Everyone was yakkin' and asking questions and the thread was moving a mile a minute!!! There were some sneaky peeks of the new sets, there is a contest to be a Guest Designer which ends tonight and there was a gift to everyone from Kim at MFT!!!

To be a MFT Guest Designer for January, see this thread for all the details!! You can win all the January release stamp sets and be on our Design Team for January!! We will be running this contest every month and it's gonna be fun!!

Also as a holiday gift to YOU, there is a coupon code for 20% off most items in the MFT store so be sure to use the code SCS1207 when you place your order. This code is good for a couple of days so don't miss out!!

So here is one of my creations for the release using Baby It's Cold Outside!! Actually I think this is my favourite of my own creations this time around. I got a bare wood cutout of a snowflake at Michael's in the $ spot and brought it home, knowing exactly what I wanted to do with it!!!

First I traced the snowflake onto this awesome designer paper by Heidi Grace and attached it to the wood. I stamped the BICOutside image onto SU watercolour paper and coloured her in using my SU markers and outlined the snowman and the snow using my Sakura Stardust gel pen. I also paper pieced her winter coat using some coordinating dp, matted the whole thing and added a snowflake brad by Karen Foster. I used a length of grosgrain ribbon to hang it from and added some yummy white organdy ribbon at the top and bottom. The bells charm at the top is actually from some wine charms that I found and I added it to the tag I made at the top using the BICOutside sentiment. Then I finished it off by placing some of my Mother of Pearl Bellas Baubles on each point of the snowflake.........aaaaaaaaaand I just noticed now that I missed a few of the points.........how embarassing!! Well, I guess now you know that I'm not perfect........baaaaaahahahaha!! I'll have to go back and fix that. Whoops.

Anyway, have a wonderful day. I hope you are getting all set for the holidays but enjoying yourself at the same time!! And in order to do that, you MUST stamp something.....Kimmie says!!

Friends Brighten Your Day!!!

Good morning stampers!! It's another day in paradise..........well, not really! It's snowin' again here in sunny Southwestern Ontario. But today I don't mind so much, because I only work the evening shift at the library!! Whippee!! So I have big plans for today! I need to get the last 5 of my Christmas card orders done, make a couple more samples for the 'big show' tonight and tidy this craft room....it's atrocious!!! So I don't mind lookin' out the window at the white stuff falling down, as long as I'm inside, all toasty warm with my coffee and my fuzzy socks!!

Here is another sneaky peek at one of the new My Favorite Things stamp sets that will be released tonight at the Cocktail Release Party over on SCS! As much as I love Baby It's Cold Outside, I think THIS one is MY favourite!! I mean, who doesn't love umbrellas and wellies (that means wellington boots, for you non-British folk)?? The set comes with some adorable sentiments like, I'll be your umbrella, Rain or Shine, Feeling Under the Weather? and Friends Brighten Your Day. It also has a polka dotted umbrella, a cloud and some raindrops.

For this card, I pulled out my Cutie Pie designer papers by Stampin' Up. Boy, it's a good thing I ordered some more during the Paper Party Promotion, because I LOVE this colour combo and the designs!! The card base is a regular sized So Saffron card with some Rose Red matting the two types of dp on the front. I stamped the adorable image on some Fabriano watercolour paper in Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink and coloured it in using my SU markers. I paper pieced her raincoat with another of the Cutie Pie dps and covered the puddle of rain in Crystal Effects, although you can't really tell in the picture, but it really looks like water in real life....I swear!! Then I stamped the raindrops in Bashful Blue all around the girl and her weiner dog!! I matted it in BB and Certainly Celery and then added some Prima Sprites, a Rose Red button and some linen thread!!

Well, I'm off to get busy and I hope to see you all tonight! I'll be rushing home from work and joining all the fun in the My Favorite Things forum! The party begins at 9pm EST!! There will be some awesome projects revealed (mine included....I'm so excited!), some giveaways, a coupon code, a cool challenge and YOU, yes YOU could become a Guest Designer for MFT!! Woohoo!!! See you there!!!

MFT Notebooks!!!

I've had a lot of fun playing with It's a Jungle Out There which was from the October release by My Favorite Things. It is so cute and I love all the crazy animals, especially that monkey!

So I am still whipping up some little notepads with my Bind-it-All for stocking stuffers and additional gifts. I'm happy with this little trio of jungle animals.

I stamped them on Fabriano watercolour paper using Archival Versafine Black Onyx ink and coloured them in using my SU markers. Then I used those awesome little leafy stamps and stamped all around the frame of the main image in matching ink to make it look like they were in the middle of the African jungle!!! Ooooooo!! I also used my handy dandy Marvy Punches and matted them and I used different patterned papers for each one, depending on the colours I used for each animal. Then I stamped a coordinating sentiment and what's so great about acrylic stamps is that they aren't fixed on a wood block so you can curve and bend the sentiment to your will to make it stamp where YOU want it to stamp! So as you can see, I bent a couple of them around the main image! So I bound them and accented with matching ribbons!! So purdy!!

Now don't forget to meet me tomorrow night for the December Release Cocktail Party over at SCS in the My Favorite Things forum!! There will be give aways, coupon codes, a challenge and sneak peeks. Find out on Wednesday how you can become a MFT Guest Designer!! The fun all begins at 9pm EST!! Woohoo!! See ya there!!

Christmas Card Tin!!

Well, it's been a very long and busy weekend....but it's over. Thanks to everyone who gave me some suggestions....I really appreciate it! We got the turkey in at 7am and made the squash and potatoes and put them each in a slow cooker on warm. That way we had less to do at the last minute. Everything went fairly smoothly, but let's just say I'm glad that it's over!!!

I'm very excited this week though because it will be my first release as a Design Team Member with My Favorite Things!! I've been working hard in my 'spare time' to create some great samples with the new stamps and I just hope that my creations meet MFT's expectations! The other members of the team are SO awesome, I'm just at TAD nervous about my designs!!

Anyway, here is my first one using the new set Baby It's Cold Outside!! I found these awesome tins at the dollar store and each one is red and white striped with a lid and a swivel handle. Well, I don't like to hang all my Christmas cards up around my house and if you set them up on tables and shelves, they just fall down or rather get BLOWN down, what with my crazy Jack Russell Terrier, Daisy racing all over the house!! So I decided to make a cute little decorative tin to put them all in!!

I used the Winter Bright designer papers and adhered it to the tin using Sticky Strip and I punched out room for the handle with one of my circle punches. Then I attached the satin polka dotted ribbon around the top with Sticky Strip too. So easy! I stamped the little lady building a snowman on SU watercolour paper and used my SU markers to colour her in and also paper pieced her dress with more Winter Bright dp. I added 3 SU brads for buttons and made the snow, snowman and her boots all sparkly with Stardust Stickles!! I used one of the big snowflake cardstock stickers from the Simply Scrappin' kit and then I used one of my Cuttlebug Alphabets to make the title and ran the letters through my Xyron and attached them to the tin. I finished it off by adding some matching ribbon and a few silver jingle bells to the handle! It looks great in my livingroom, just waiting for my first Christmas cards!!!

OHMYGOSH!! I just checked the MFT site and I'm listed on The Team page!! I could just die!! I'm so excited!! This is too much for this early in the morning!! Wow!! I feel special! And don't forget to check out the other DT members' blogs for their sneaky peeks too!!

Anyway, here's some news for ya!! My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, December 5 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time!! Head over to the MFT forum on Splicoaststampers to find out all the details and join us there on Wednesday night! There will be give aways, coupon codes, a challenge and sneak peeks. Find out on Wednesday how you can become a MFT Guest Designer!! Doesn't that sound like fun?? Now I have to work until 8:30pm that night, but you can bet your bippy I'll be partying when I get home!!! Hope you can stop by for some cocktails!!! See ya there!!!
